The show was originally titled "Better In The Left Lane" before adopting "Lonesome Road".
Before the reshaping of the show, Lonesome Road underwent multiple transformations. Originally about a skilled car mechanic, the show initially revolved around a character named Lon. A mechanic who fixed high end vintage cars, found himself fixing other peoples lives as well all while being haunted by a dark presence from his past. The show was originally titled "Better In The Left Lane" with a series regular cast consisting of 7 people. The show eventually changed its name to "Lonesome Road."
Traditionally set as a drama, the series took place in the city of Los Angeles. In 2017, the show was released for private screenings, most of which were held at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood. It was set to release through streaming services until an interruption in production came to a halt. Through a strenuous debacle regarding its script, producers, crew, and production staff, the show was incapable of moving forward with divided lines. After a year, the show came back, but with a new script and new terms still trying to make its way as a show about a love for vintage cars while still revolving around Lon the mechanic. Various original footage can be found online as well as a teaser video.
