Alone in the woods, nature photographer Harper witnesses a violent crime. After being captured by the culprits, she uses her survivalist skills to try and make it out alive.

Nature photographer Harper Sykes stumbles upon Ravener and his henchmen torturing a timber prospector in Virginia's Watchatoomy Valley woods. Harper races back to town to report her shocking discovery to Sheriff Pendergrast, but ends up captured when her truck is suddenly towed back to Ravener's farm.

After Ravener taunts her, Harper produces a handgun and shoots one of his accomplices. Ravener beats and restrains Harper. Ravener explains that he tortured the prospector because he wants to protect his valley from an industrial takeover.

Harper eventually escapes her restraints and flees the farm. Harper comes across a tweaker working with Ravener, but he fatally injures himself when he drops bullets into a campfire. Harper finishes him off by choking the henchman to death.

Harper lures a henchman pursuing her on a dirt bike into a wire trap that decapitates him. She also shoots and kills another henchman. Having learned personal information from a wallet she left behind, Ravener threatens Harper over a walkie-talkie.

Harper builds a raft to sail downriver. Harper takes refuge in a home belonging to a seemingly kind old man named Mallinckrodt. Realizing he is in league with Ravener upon finding a photograph of them together, Harper secretly poisons Mallinckrodt's heart medication with meth. Mallinckrodt taunts Harper as he dies. Harper recovers a rifle and executes Mallinckrodt.

Harper makes her way to a gas station where she encounters Sheriff Pendergrast. While being escorted in his squad car, Harper discovers the sheriff was one of the men she saw torturing the prospector. Pendergrast brings Harper to Ravener.

Ravener and Harper have a fight during which Harper recovers Ravener's gun. Before she can fire, Ravener reveals he has Harper's boyfriend Billy held hostage. Ravener beats, stabs, and rapes Harper and feeds Billy to his pigs.

While recovering in a hospital, Harper recounts her ordeal to Detective Slayton. Slayton dismisses Harper as another delusional addict who was burned in a drug lab explosion because the police never recovered any bodies and she stabbed the state trooper who found her. Slayton starts doubting his dismissal when a doctor reveals Harper's burns are the result of being digested after Ravener sewed her inside a dead cow's stomach.
