Webster's Dictionary for cold blooded killer should be: Pablo Escobar
Business in the drug trade changed 180 degrees when Pablo Escobar entered the world of heavy drug manufacturing and profits exceeded even the Medellín cartels wildest expectations. This documentary outlines Pablo Escobar's rise from a low life street thug to the very top echelon of the Medellín drug cartel.
The cocaine cowboys as the drug wars were called when they first began in Dadeland Miami and in South Florida dozens of Colombian drug smugglers were shot and killed in cold blood as were many innocent victims. The drug wars initiated a steady stream of Colombian drug traffickers murders such that the morgue in South Florida could not hold all the dead bodies. Refrigerated trucks had to be called in to house the murdered corpses until the morgue could perform the autopsies.
Pablo Escobar alongside two of his key partners, one named Fabio Ochoa Vásquez an air and ground transporter and the other named Carlos Lehder a wholesaler who transferred the end product to the thousands of south Miami and Florida drug dealers who could sell Pablo's product as quickly as he could manufacture it.
This documentary also reflects how Pablo Escobar learned from not only his mistakes, but the mistakes of his competitors. The factories appeared to be antiquated death traps for Pablo's workers who were expected to work around the clock under the fear of death not to just them, but to their entire families. Criminals who were greedy and tried to extort Pablo through kidnapping are a group of free wheeling guerillas named M19. Pablo did not want to agree to M19's demands for ransom money and he gathered the narcos to convince them all to see things his way. In the jungles of Colombia where all the narcos gathered Pablo convinces his fellow narcos to go to war against the militant M19 guerillas. Death to the M19 kidnappers did not end with just the kidnappers. Pablo went after M19's family members and ruthlessly first tortured them and then eventually slaughtering them one by one.
When you live by the sword, you must be prepared to also die by the sword. Such was the eventual fate of the cold blooded Colombian kingpin Pablo Escobar. I am neither a fan nor admirer of this cold blooded killer but his rise to wealth and notoriety is world renowned and cannot be ignored. This documentary provides great insight into who this maniac really was.
A perfect 10 for 10 rating.
