When Abby is discussing Ruiz' fake ID early in the episode, she describes it as an ID for Marine Sergeant Ruiz, but the ID clearly is for a Lance Corporal (E-3)
"La vida mala" sounds like an awfully unnatural name for a gang of native Spanish speakers. First off, its very meaning (the bad life) is rather lame for a criminal gang. Besides, the article "la" (the) is wrong here as it is in English. And finally most adjectives in Spanish follow the noun but there are exceptions, and here is one of them. Using the adjective "mala" after the noun as in "vida mala" implies there is a life that is bad and another one that is good. To suggest there is only one life, and it is bad, you need to place the adjective before the noun: "mala vida". Another series, CSI: Miami", featured a similar criminal gang with a much better name: "Mala noche" (bad night), which followed the natural order in Spanish and dropped the article.
