'It's not very sensible but let's just do it anyway!'
The film follows Slava Polunin, the great Russian clown, on a very peculiar and personal mission. We join him as he hauls his stage production 'SNOWSHOW' on a long train journey to Arctic Russia, in the depths of the harsh winter that inspired his art.
"SLAVA'S JOURNEY: SECRETS OF SNOW" joins a train to arctic Russia with Master Clown Slava Polunin as he brings his world famous stage production "Snowshow" back to the deep midwinter snow of his childhood. The film is a 65-minute documentary that weaves together shots of performance that spill over from stage into the natural environment; a road trip that follows a troupe of clowns on a long journey to Arctic Russia; and personal testimonies and anecdotes from Slava and his clowns and technicians. The boundaries between real and created worlds are constantly blurred.—Steve Haisman
