A mediocre film with a potential that they didn't know how to take advantage of

In another attempt to get closer to genre cinema, Argentina decided to make this film that does not move away from the mediocrities that Argentine cinema has produced, but that at least tries to offer something interesting. The film succeeds in touching on the theme of witchcraft as the title announces, but it also touches on the theme of human trafficking. She does it through the daughter of the protagonist who is kidnapped and she decides to resort to her skills as a witch to find her. In that area, the story is interesting and could have been made the most of. Unfortunately, Argentine cinema does not have the resources that Hollywood has and for that reason this film has quite a few limitations. Although the digital effects are not of great quality, they served to be able to do something according to the premise. The bad thing is that we don't see the protagonist use her powers in much of the film. A big mistake is that the film has been described in some quarters as a horror film when it is clearly a suspense film. It has a good suspenseful vibe, but it feels somewhat watered down. It is a film that shows good potential, but they did not know how to take advantage of it. Bruja is one of those Argentine films that have something interesting to tell and offer, but cannot achieve it due to the mediocrity of Argentine cinema that limits it so much. My final rating for this movie is a 6/10.
