One has to cut at least some slack for this episode, it was made by two 12 year-olds with barely any writing or animation experience, it's the very first episode of many and it really means a lot for the Object Show Community.
But, looking past all of that historical context, this episode obviously isn't good, quite the contrary, the pacing is all over the place, pretty much nothing is happening in the first half of the episode and it doesn't serve as a very good introduction to the characters either, it's hard to invest yourself in what they're doing and how well they're doing if you don't already know them, the Huang brother's limited knowledge of animation made the "action" in the scenes not have that snap that future episodes have and there is exactly one actually funny joke.
Harsh truth is that this episode is what keeps a lot of people from watching the show, or maybe they decide to watch another season instead (such as me back in the day), which is a huge mistake.
