True, very emotional, the real story of Salam
cybegeek2 October 2019
I had the oppertunity to watch this documentary in an early screening and now that it is on Netflix. Everytime I watch it I am left with tears, this film manages to capture every aspect of the life of this unique man. This is a must watch for every Pakistani, perhaps if enough people watch it, it could be the start of a change in mindset in Pakistanis, finally acknowledging their biggest hero in the world of science.
Absolutely amazing - must watch!!!

When it takes 12 years to complete a documentary you know there must be something special in it and hence Salam does not disappoint.
An inspiration to all Muslims around the world, to all Pakistanis around the world .. this movie offers an in-depth look into the life of one of the greatest scientific finds the world has seen.

The best documentary you have seen in a long time
Moviegeek20205 October 2019
As far as documentaries go, this is the best I have seen in a long time. It gives you a perspective of how different the world is outside our comfort zones of netflix. The difficulties and obstacles Dr. Salam faced and how he overcame them really proves the extraordinary man he was. I dont think pakistan has birthed a more genius man, he is the best that country got, he put their name on the map of science. In my opinion he should have chosen to represent another nationality.. at least his legacy would be celebrated instead of being shunned. Shows he had love and loyalty for his country and 40 years later the country still fails to show some back.

Dr. Salam -The First Muslim Nobel Prize Laureate
hasnainafzal3 October 2019
The documentary on Salam's life is very fascinating, emotional and beautiful. This movie shows every aspect of his life very beautifully, he had faced a very difficult time in life but his love and affection for science were remarkable. He faced a very difficult time in Pakistan due to extremist sunnis illiterate people which misguide people for their use. Now, this documentary is available on Netflix and I can hope this can change the mindset of extremist people and they can see the large picture of reality. I am sorry for what happened to Doctor Salam but Pakistan is still his country and we're still his people. For me, he will be always a beacon of the light, inspiration and my hero. We will never forget his name. He is one of the most important and significant Muslim scientist in the world and the first Muslim Nobel Prize Laureate. Long live Dr. Salam's name.
A must watch movie for everyone in Pakistan. Science is such a kind of thing which has nothing to do with faith or religion but unfortunately, not everyone can understand this thing. Humanity always comes first and then comes to religion. Without humanity religion is nothing. My hero Dr. Salam. Pakistan is always proud of you.
Well made movie about an average man

The movie is well researched, but the man himself is average. He marries two wives and there is no criticism of that. His personal shortcomings are portrayed hastily as if an addendum. His physics ability was definitely good.
A story of Salam.
ataulhaie3 October 2019
It's an incredible and very detailed documentary on Dr Abdus Salam. Tells you what a great thinker and scientist he was and how unfortunate the country was for losing his legacy to bigotry.I hope this film makes Pakistanis see Abdus Salam beyond his Ahmadi faith.
An absolutely brilliant biopic of Dr Salam is now on Netflix.
A story of an incredible journey of Pakistan's greatest scientist. A story of joy and sorrow. A story of pride & grief. A story of a patriotic A story of Salam.
A Must Watch for everyone in Pakistan.

A very good example of pushing the agenda
arslan70-949-89597612 October 2019
You can replace Abdus Salam from this documentary with any Ahmadi and there will barely be a difference. So imagine a documentary on Einstein which doesn't touch relativity or his other literal work. This is what it is essentially, a critique on the treatment of ahmadis in Pakistan.
Must watchhh

Guilty conscious
mnofil4 October 2019
One being a sunni muslim can only feel guilt in his heart after watching this documentary. More than being insightful about this great beings life and achievements, it highlights how one person can be so selfless when it comes to love for his country. A master piece can take more than a decade to finish and this documentary surely is.
Incredibly ambitious documentary about science, religion & persecution
tarantinowrites7 October 2019
This is clearly a labour of love. Covering themes such as religious extremism, exile, the relationship between science and religion all through the story of one very determined man. It's a fantastic, moving, documentary - very much worth a watch.

Brilliant, hear warming and emotional.

I have waited for this film since 2012. It took more than 12 years to make it possible.
It's such an emotional ride,I cried in many places. It made me feel miss Salam as he were my father,a feeling of longing. Having come from the same community as Salam did,I can relate so much to pain he felt having being rejected by his own fellowmen. It breaks my heart to how to this day he's perceived in Muslim world especially Pakistan but then there's his greatness, his utmost loyalty to Pakistan. He didn't take British or Italian nationality and stuck with Pakistani nationality.
I would have liked the use of music more, and maybe film divided in chapters. But it flowed well nonetheless. Cinematography was so brilliant in some places, overall good. Thank-you for everyone involved in making the film possible. <3
The film is great and story is brilliant. Only those with really open minds would like it. If you have any curiosity about this man,you must watch it.
Fun fact: I used to budge so much on FB page of film that one of producers took my number and said hey man I'll call you when I release the film online.

As Pakistani I'm Very shameful about what my nation had done with Dr Salam.
gujr-391827 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This documentary describes that how bad we Pakistanis are with our heroes who belongs to minorities. The whole world own him while we rejected.
We portrayed Ghazi ilm Dins, rizvis and mumtaz qadris as our social ideals and now the whole nation is suffering from religious intolerance and extremism.
What a tragedy.

A ****** Documentary
khizer1527 October 2019
A very confused documentary. Instead of talking about Dr. Salaam's incredible contributions to Physics, especially his study of the Higgs-Bozon particles; all this documentary depicts is the issues he faced from his Country. There are points when it delves so deeply into the history and political landscape of Pakistan, that it becomes confusing as to whether it's about The Scientist, or Pakistan through the 80's. Overall, poor and confused.
