Recensione in evidenza
Another decent episode - A new writer Alex Delyle laying down the new house rules
Another episode where I didn't roll my eyes back and cringe a little.
Someone's done a stock take and decided what are assets to a good show and what are dead weight.
Madison no longer does erratic and annoying things and it's not so dominated by her.
I don't agree that Nick was dead weight, he was interesting and well played although give some stupid things to act out, but he wanted out as an actor so we lose him.
Strand and to a lesser degree Alicia and Lucinda are all assets, especially Strand and if they can come up with back story that is true to the way the actor originally delivered the character in the first few episodes we met him, ie a flawed scheming but founder with a heart character, he's going to keep the show moving.
I am liking the 2 new characters Althea and John Dorrie. Dorrie in particular. Someone questioning the emotional aspect of events in a classic cowboy shell. And Morgan, I like how the actor delivers his character but in TWD he was given some absolute rubbish to wade through. They've cleaned that up for his role here, His trajectory is much more believable. A guy who just wants to be left alone crossing paths with things that draw him in.
I liked the water park set up for the action thrill section. you could see the disaster coming a mile away but enjoyed it just the same.
The story to camera angle with it shown in 4.3 ration and vhs degraded, it was ok, tolerable, and I did like that everything was kept honed and focused, Not sure about the old characters delivering the lines as if we don't know who they are. I'm guessing that's got something to do with them being damaged by the events of the stadium, but possibly that's a little over done, I guess we'll see when that's all revealed.
This episode could have been so much worse, and they have been so much worse so it's a pleasant surprise that it is in fact watchable and engaging. it's not genius level good, but.... we'll see. If Alex Delyle and the other writers can keep it fresh and focused and with direction and the directors and producers don't mess it up again, we might have a show to follow and focus on again.
