A cat named Blanket lives in the city with his son, Cape. One day, Cape decides to leave home and embarks on an adventure to find the legendary cat's paradise. To find his son, Blanket must overcome his fear and reconcile with his past.

A cat named Blanket has long been living in a high-rise apartment in the city with his son, Cape. One day, curious about the outside world, Cape decides to leave home and embarks on an adventure to find the legendary cat's paradise. To find his son, Blanket must overcome his fear and reconcile with his past, with the help of a female Macaw.

Former stray cat Max happily found a home in a woman's big city apartment, where he raises kitten son Cape. When their new parrot housemate brings up the Cattopia legend, Blanket admits he was there and Cape's mother is there, on a mountain in the jungle across the river. Tired of indoor boredom, Cape seeks a way out, failing to fly but building a rocket. It works, semi-crashes and gets him in a wild land where a gibbon and a black stray cat save him from the raccoon animal hunters. He'll learn danger comes from a glass factory and cattopia is under a lake, not recommended, yet risks venturing. Blanket and the parrot followed, past a nirvana seeking animals commune, and team up with the black stray, formerly Blankets' buddy whose life he once saved, to help Cape, who got caught by the raccoons, escape and set up their own dream land.—KGF Vissers

Adopted by a girl as a kitten, Blanket is a Chartres's who spent his days on the cozy cushion of the house because he thought the outside world was dangerous.

Years later, Cape, Blanket's son, a lively and inquisitive calico kitten, looks out the window inquiring about the street while chasing birds. He keeps requesting to play outside with her father. He is intrigued by a story Blanket told him about his mother living in "a place where cats live happily" called Peachtopia. After that, Cape decides to leave his apartment and fulfill his dream of visiting Peachtopia. The kitten uses a rocket toy to fly along the river, paragliding across the city and eventually arriving at the forest at the base of the mountain. He finds himself in an animal-shaped glass statue factory.

However, a group of raccoon's guard the factory and later pursue Cape. He is rescued by a gibbon, who shows him a pub located inside an abandoned train car that functions as the other animals' covert lair and introduces him to an elderly, wise black cat that lived in Cape's apartment many years ago. Cape is then informed by the elderly cat that the factory workers have abducted and transformed dozens of wild animals into statues. After Mack takes Blanket to the factory after noticing its son has vanished, Blanket finds out that Cape faces the possibility of being turned into a statue. On orders from the boss, the raccoon's went out to look for the misplaced necklace. Blanket, however, stops them after meeting the old cat in the factory's garden and alerting them to the danger facing all the animals.

When Blanket eventually locates Cape, the raccoon's manage to free all the animals and then flee the factory workers by using a whale statue to lead them underwater. They soon reach a lovely location with peach trees, which turns out to be Peachtopia. Cape then responds to Blanket's lament about his mother's passing by saying that he can search for anything in his heart, regardless of his dream.

All of the animals relocate to Blanket and Cape's apartment in the post-credits scene, which also shows Cape exploring a space station.
