Nothing like the Part 1
iSatchit2 December 2018
If you have expectation after watching part one, you'll be disappointed for sure. The person who is missed from the beginning is Abhay ....can't imaging the movie without him. Dianna was better then Sonakshi Jimmy and Piyush Mishra are always outstanding.

"Audience Phirr Bhag Jayenge" - Unusual Sequel
oazam25 August 2018
The first movie was funny but it lacked the narratives necessary to entertain the audience to certain extents. Diana Penty is a decent actress with potential but these dreadful scripts she accepts will just put her through a vulnerable situation.

So basically a mix up occurs with 2 Happy Singhs played by Sonakshi Sinha and Diana Penty. Happy (Sonakshi Sinha) is a college professor who travels to Shanghai not to mention the fact upon arrival, she ends up being kidnapped misconception wise and then the other Happy (Diana Penty) who is happily married to Guddu from the previous film and along with the 1st Happy, Bagga and the Pakistani policeman Afridi get abducted as well.

Mudassar Aziz is known to make very average of somewhat films starting with Dulha Mil Gaya. The writing lacked substance and the plot just became a reuslted predictable mess. It can be very substantially dangerous for entertaining the audience with chinese people speaking proper and accurate Hindi. The dialogues were cheesy and the inadequacy of it just made it worse.

Sonakshi Sinha plays Happy #1 known as the mistaken one. Her acting managed to do some justice in parts but other than that, she has no potentiality as an actress even if Rajkumar Hirani or Vishal Bhardwaj casted her.

Jassie Gill is a phenomenal **drumroll** singer, not an actor. He was just there for making a quick buck on set.

Jimmy Shergill gave the same exact performance as Bagga from the previous film and he was above average to my expectations

Diany Penty appears for 60% of the film but no justice there

Piyush Mishra is definitely and undoubtedly one of the worst performers in the acting department. His acting feels like he is a asthma patient fighting for this life in the hospital based on his speech impairing.

Music has no color despite Chin Chin Chu which is a cute recreation of the old song

Overall, just an ordinary predictable comedy so wait until it comes on TV or Netflix

2/5 - No need for a sequel

What a Pain!!
santubhattacharjee13 December 2018
The first part was still bearable, barely because it had brilliance of Abhay Deol. And why there is a need of sequel to plotless pondering!! Characters like bagga and Usman are good and quirky.. but squeezing rotten lemon will produce more bitter than tang. Sonakshi did justice to character. But still stupid writing and unnecessary stretching of 10 mins drama into 135 minutes is unforgivable.

Total disappointment
bs-3877724 August 2018
Overstated and overacted. Long and unnecessary. There is a reason why some actors will never become stars. Ali Fazal, sorry mate, acting is not one of your strengths..facial expressions are forced and dialogue delivery is...constipated. And how long will have to bear star kids trying to force themselves on us.

A comedy which could have been better with right direction and script
ketgup8325 August 2018
I had a huge expectation from Happy Phirr Jayegi as I loved the first part, Happy Bhag Jayegi, released in 2016. After watching the trailer of Happy Phirr Jayegi , my expectation were shadowed with not-so-great dialogues and too much things going on one frame. I was right after watching the film as well. Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi is an acid test you have to go through to test your intelligence.

Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi is a comedy of errors when Happy (Sonakshi Sinha) is kidnapped by the local goons in China who mistaken her for the original Happy (Diane Penty). What follows next is the series of confusion and mistaken identities.

Mudassar Aziz does well in the Happy Bhag Jayegi where he gives utmost importance to the key characters and result is fruitful. He tries to repeat the same in the sequel by bringing in more characters (Jassi Gill and Sonakshi Sinha) and confuses you with too much of things going one in just matter of seconds. Sometimes, you have to gather your wits to understand what is actually going on. Movie does starts of well with hilarious moments and few scenes are actually enjoyable but the second half tumbles down. The screenplay is fitted with too many loop holes. Art direction is good with high production value. Cinematography is top notch. Songs are fine. Dialogues are humorous.

The only saving grace in the film is the performances. Jimmy Shergill leads the way with perfect comic timing. He is outstanding and brings down the house with his antics. He is equally supported by Piyush Mihsra who will tickle your funny bone. Sonakshi Sinha is just abut okay. Jassi Gill Does not have much to do along with Diane Penty and Ali Fazal.

Overall, a comedy which could have been better with right direction and script. Decent 2 /5

Wastage of time and money
vickyvolts1 September 2018
Typical low standard Bollywood movie. Jimmy Shergil is absolutely fantastic as always. Denzil Smith is very impressive as a villain in his appearance and delivery, however he had nothing much to do. Sonakshi Sinha is a poor actor. You will never understand who is doing what in the movie and why. To sum-up this movie is a wastage of time and money.

Jassi Gill makes a phenomenal entry into Bollywood with this laugh riot
AvidReader0726 August 2018
Okay, I have to admit, the cute Sardar in the promos caught my eyes, but he surely doesn't disappoint with his performance either. Apart from being extremely easy on the eyes, he is a good actor and singer. Jimmy Sheirgill was fantastic, Sonakshi was barely adequate, Diana Penty and Ali Fazal are a delight to watch for the little while they are on screen, and I wish Aparshakti Khurrana had a meatier role because he is super talented. All the other actors were good in their parts. Kudos to Mudassar Aziz for doing an excellent job, and putting together all the perfect ingredients to make a good comedy. Nowadays, I just get super excited when I see a Bollywood movie which is clean and genuinely funny (not just trying to be). All in all, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi is a well thought-out movie with great performances, sure to give you plenty of laughs.

Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi: A Hilarious Rollercoaster Ride in China
sanahashamkhan29 February 2024
"Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi" is a Bollywood comedy that takes you on a laughter-packed journey from Amritsar to Shanghai. The film boasts a captivating storyline, seamlessly blending suspense, humor, and romance. The narrative kicks off with a kidnapping in Shanghai, setting the stage for an engaging flashback.

The ensemble cast, including Sonakshi Sinha as Happy 2, Diana Penty as Happy 1, and Jimmy Sheirgill as Daman Singh Bagga, delivers stellar performances. The introduction of new characters, like Khushwant Singh Gill (Jassie Gill) and Fakkuruddin Qurashi (Jeeveshu Ahluwalia), adds a refreshing layer of comic timing to the plot.

The film skillfully navigates through misunderstandings, mistaken identities, and a series of hilarious events. The addition of a Botany professor, another Happy (Diana Penty), creates a delightful twist, leading to a chaotic adventure in Shanghai. The dynamic between Bagga, Usman Afridi (Piyush Mishra), and Chang (Jason Tham) adds an extra layer of comedy, making the audience burst into laughter.

The love triangle between Happy 2, Bagga, and Khushwant adds a sweet touch to the film, with Aparshakti Khurana's Aman Singh Wadhwa bringing an unexpected twist to the storyline. The supporting cast, including Denzil Smith as Adnan Chow, plays their roles convincingly, contributing to the overall entertainment value.

The narrative's pacing is well-maintained, keeping the audience hooked throughout. The scenes in China are visually appealing, capturing the essence of the vibrant city. The climax, set during a concert, is a highlight, showcasing the unity and determination of the characters.

"Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi" not only lives up to its predecessor but also surpasses expectations with its clever writing and humorous sequences. The film strikes a perfect balance between comedy and emotions, making it an enjoyable watch for both fans of the franchise and newcomers. Overall, this Bollywood comedy is a delightful blend of chaos, comedy, and heartfelt moments, earning it a solid 4-star rating.

Racist /.\
simret-sekhon22 August 2021
Jassi Gill deserves more roles, he proved he can act and do comedy. The storyline was really forced and unoriginal and the entire movie was racist towards China. India needs to catch up to the times because the cheap jokes don't work on the smarter audiences nowadays.

Happy running the second time was not as funny as the first time
garydivya14 September 2018
Good comic timing of Piyush Mishra combined with funny dialogues of Jimmy Shergill make it a decent affair. The story seems a bit stretched at times. The original happy, Diana Penty has been wasted.

A solid supporting cast.....
fillerruth24 August 2018
Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegii s a goofball, lightweight comedy, livened up by an energetic leading lady, a solid supporting cast and a plot that doesn't lose steam through its 2 hour 16 minutes run time.

While the plot twists in this mad caper is predictable, what finally wears down this comedy is its interminable, long-winded length. But it has some smart, sassy one-liners. They don't try too hard at the humour and that has its own appeal. You are likely to walk out of cinemas with a smile on your face, but that smile could have developed into a hearty grin had the length been snipped by at least 20 minutes. But it's still a jolly ride for the viewers.

All said and done, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi is one of those films in which you can have fun with your entire family. It has moments which will make you laugh even if you're watching it for the nth time on television years from now. Whatever is the fate of this film, I want a spin-off film of Bagga & Kaylula.

On the whole, HAPPY PHIRR BHAG JAYEGI turns out to be a worthy sequel. Despite the loose ends, it manages to make audiences laugh thanks to its funny dialogues and situations, clean humour and bravura performances. At the box office, it will turn out to be a decent fare.

HPBJ is just as good as HBJ, if not better. It has good music too and for a change, the songs actually add value to the storytelling process. This film takes the ideas of the original and it adds a zany new twist to the proceedings. The goofball humour gets a little over-the-top at times, but that's exactly what works for this madcap comedy.

Happy Go Around
tanujpoddar29 December 2018
This is a sequel to the film Happy Bhag Jayegi. While the first was set in Pakistan, this one takes place in China. The characters from the first movie are back as well, but the story revolves around a different Happy and her aide in China.

The entertainment factor in the movie is the comic conversations between Jimmy Shergill and Piyush Mishra. And the whole plot pretty much is put together around that, albiet with lot of loopholes. However, comedy at times is just slapstick. Sonakshi leaves no impact as the lead protagonist, leaving audience with not enough motive to root for her to come out of her troubles.

Sad attempt to recreate the success of the first film. Just not enough in it for the audience.

Climax is not so good
akamit-5733912 December 2018
Acting is good but sceenpaly and the story is not so good. Story is unnecessarily long. Usman bhai and Daman Singh Bagga are in form which makes the movie watchable for inly the first time. Climax is not so expected. Overall it is watchable the first time.

The director should be jailed for making such movie... I witnessed the scariness... In my travel from one place to another, accidentally they played this movie.. I was about to break the television... I threatened the travel staff by saying stop this bull***t else I will jump out of your bus... they said sir, think about us, how we are managing..?? We were paid to show this movie... I've never ever seen such piece of trash in my life... 4-5 passengers had epilepsy seizure when they watched for 30 minutes.. I had to put eyecover and earbuds and that's how I saved myself from coma...

Could have been way more funnier
baruaritesh25 August 2018
Overall a decent plot and premise for a great entertainer. The existing actors of part 1 really bring the movie to life. The screenplay slows down in places it gets a tad bit slow in the second half.

Overall, an ok watch if you are not expecting much
