- 1944, in a town outside London, a 14-year-old girl becomes unexpectedly embroiled in a plot involving a downed German flyer and Nazi spies, with consequences that could affect the course of the war.
- We find ourselves propelled back to 1944, in the midst of WW2, as Catherine and a group of headstrong children form a club to keep their stories of the war alive. Soon, Catherine discovers a secret that will change her life: her arch nemesis Jack Digby is hiding Franz, a young downed German flyer in their town. After finding out that her Father is alive, she arranges a handover that could change the course of the war, her Father for Franz (whose Father happens to be a high-ranking general in Berlin) and the German battle plans that he is in possession of. Catherine soon discovers that there is a spy in their midst sent to their town to find Franz and must act quickly but; distracted by the anticipation of seeing her Father; Catherine ignores her club which leaves the children feeling left out but desperate to try and save the day and help Catherine before it is too late. A children-led drama bridging the gap between espionage thrillers and 'swallows and amazons' style adventures.
