I want to be fair and say that I actually liked the monster design, considering this couldn't have had much of a budget.
Sadly, there is another hour and a half of movie surrounding said monster which I was not as fond of. The cast acts like they're graduating middle school rather than fully grown adults-- good Lord, the way they talk about the female lead almost made me quit in the first ten minutes. There's little attempts at building suspense, other than the stock monster sound effects that were already overused a decade ago.
It's rough, but not in the fun, promising way where you can see the film maker's ideas shining through. The quintessential uninspired found footage movie to be dumped on streaming services and then forgotten about.

The rating is way too high on this film, this is what I might call a 3.8. The first hour is filled with pointless footage that just keeps going. The acting is poor and these "Expert Survivalist" just are not very convincing. Felt like I wasted my time watching this. I should have taken a clue from the first couple min in that this would be poor.

Yet again, we have a film that seems to only have positive reviews for it. I just watched it , and can categorically state that anything over two stars for this POS is hyperbole.
This is no Blair Witch. It's not even a decent found footage film. It's 90% padding, where people with dismal acting talent try and ad-lib a set-up that's bereft of any meaningful characterisation, exposition, etc. It's just filler, nothing more. It's a tropes' trope.
There's no payoff worthy of staying awake for. If you make it to the end without skipping, I applaud you. If you *do* watch it all through, you may notice the illogic, like how seemingly terrified people fighting for their lives suddenly branch into scripted comedy, duelling with barbed quips that someone obviously thought was hilarious when writing it. (At that point I preferred the dreadful ad-lib.) Or like how a creature that is intimately aware of the territory hasn't already hunted down the family who own a holiday home there. Or...THAT ending. Oh geeze. Someone thought it was a good twist? Well, y'see, when telling a story, you can make ANY kind of twist you want. You can make it reveal that it's all a dream, or that everyone is made of jelly. Doesn't make it good, or proffer any advancement of quality to the work. But what am I saying? The people who made this have no concept of quality. It's a by-the-numbers, my-first-movie/script/acting job, and it reeks of its' own dismal ineptitude.
AVOID!!

There is the creep, who thinks he is the ultimate cool guy (shaved head?); the smart nice guy, that makes you wonder "how did end up in this group? and the one in the middle. You wait and wait and wait, 1/2 way through the movie you finally get to hear something strange, asides from the stupid, juvenile banter. As in: I gotta pee; did you do her; you always drop ice on the floor (not kidding),etc. By the time the action started, all I could think was "hope bald, 10 year old, ends up DEAD". Blair Witch Project was filmed by a group of unexperience people, WITH BRAINS, and became a cult classic. I was there for the first screening. This one is a lousy brainless mess. The actor playing the nice guy deserved better. Trying to remake cult classics is a huge mistake in most cases, because most fail. I can count on the fingers of one hand, the lost footage movies that got it right. And, I have been watching horror movies since Romero's 1968 "There coming to get you, Barbara.

Horrible. Don't waste your time. Poor, annoying acting, wannabe Blair witch ripoff without the payoff. And spoiler alert there's no "twist" at the end as some reviewers would have you believe.

I like these guys based on their podcast. However this film is just garbage. The story is boring, the effects are terrible and the acting is subpar. Avoid at all costs.

Ever since blair witch, I've loved found footage stuff. When done right it came be super effective. There's tons of very bad ones out there.
This is one of the better ones. the reality/webseries aspect Reminds me a bit of Wrong Turn 2 which I love.
The acting is hit and miss, but nothing takes you out of it. Had some genuinely suspenseful moments. If you like horror and found footage give it a go.

I felt this not only had a good character development which gave it a solid foundation. It had a good amount of menace and to top it all off a creepy creature!

I have to admit I am not a huge fan of the Found Footage genre however when done right and cleverly it can be effective.
Without spoiling it She walks the woods utilizes a nice twist on a sometimes stale genre, keeps the mystery alive and enough tension and fear that makes you want to stay until the end credits.

I gave it 7/10 stars and state it's a great horror because in my opinion it is a great horror movie.
People who review horror badly are clearly the folks who normally don't watch horror anyway.
Horror isn't meant to be A grade folks hehehe if you want A grade go watch Titanic by James Cameron. Regardless honestly nothing since Titanic has been A grade. todays drama is bad and embarrasing compared to the old days.
this movie entertained me in the right ways for what i wanted and expected out of a horror. it did its job. someone mentioned blair witch.....we didnt even see a witch. That movie is at best a 4 times watch movie then it's bin time. she walks the woods i could watch 16 times.

Hey monster chasing me. Let's be loud and yell. Argue. Keep the lights on. Let's rest im in shock. Just the stupidest writing there is. A low budget doesn't mean creating cliche characters.
I am ashamed I stayed to the end with this one. Grown men acting like the usual teens in slasher movies should have stopped me going further. It is one of those films where you end up 'slacked jawed' at the shear awfulness of the WHOLE production. Two idiot brothers who think they're funny (to themselves) but are just loud and obnoxious and EXTREMELY untalented, wrote and produced and gave themselves 'starring' roles in this travesty. BORING BORING BORING. No tension, no fear and nothing to see here. Don't be fooled into wasting your time. I have no doubt that friends and family only, gave this mess the high scores on here. They should be ashamed of themselves, I am for watching this nonsense!!

I was fully awake when this started. Then the actors tried acting. Zzz. Then they spent all this time at the camp fire telling a boring story about how they're awful people. Zzz. Then they're in the woods running. Supposed to be survivalists yet have 0 survival skills. The saddest part is the two main guys are brothers in real life, yet their chemistry seemed so fake and off, like they just met for this project. Hopefully their day jobs are better than this and they give up making movies.

Im usually dubious when i hear the claims, but there is no people legitimately gave this an 8 or 9. I love found footage movies, but most of this is just pointless filler that adds nothing at all.
Watch the first 5 mins, then the last 25 and you'll have missed nothing.

An hour and twenty minutes of garbage. I should have known 10 minutes in, and turned it off. Watching paint dry would have been better than this movie.

I liked it. The immature boy-men got on my nerves, but was a pretty decent movie! Doesn't deserve ALL these low scores! I've seen way worse! With big name stars!

This is the first time I watch a movie all the way through, just to make sure everyone dies. So much wasted footage of talking. Best part was that the shrieking in the dark. Period.

I can't believe all the hate reviews on here. I thought She Walks the Woods was awesome!!!! Sure it's low budget and I did have some minor about it overall it totally work for me. I have seen at least 10 movies that were 100 times worse and they all had bigger budgets. This is one of my favorite found footage movies! I can't wait to get the blu ray.

Wasted an hour and half of my life watching this movie.
A group of people who are making a wildlife series who don't know anything about wildlife or the equipment they need to use.

It would earn a third star for the monster if i hadn't watched nearly an hour of absolutely nothing to get there. I love a slow burn. That slow creeping dread that can make a low budget found footage movie truly memorable. But sometimes it seems like a filmmaker believes that total banality punctuated by violence is the same thing. Movies like this one remind us it's not. Watch Horror in the High Desert or even one of the Missing 411 documentaries. Either would be far more satisfying and not leave you angry enough to leave a two star review like this movie did. I'm a sucker for found footage but right now i just feel like a sucker.
