When former grocer Spyros Sfentoulas becomes the proud owner of a supermarket, his ecstatic wife Aggeliki believes she will finally realise her dream of breaking into the upper crust. In the meantime, love-struck daughter Tasia is convinced she has found the ideal husband in the shape of haughty aristocrat Charly, and Roulis, Aggeliki's aspiring singer/composer son, is determined to make a name for himself. As a result, Spyros spends like a sailor on leave to support his family's irrational demands. Then, Aggeliki receives news that she's about to inherit her estranged uncle's immense fortune, inflaming her fantasies of glamour. But what if happiness and true love are closer than Aggeliki and her children think?
