This shocking miniature tells the story of the gunpoint abduction and rape of Erinn Orcutt. Not to be confused with the actress Erin Orcutt, this single mother was on her way home from work in April 2010 when an attacker pullled a gun on her, forced her into her car, and made her drive to a parking lot where she was sexually violated. When he told her they would be going into the desert where he could "finish" what he started, she realised she had to get out of the car then and there, which she managed to do. We see CCTV of her running for safety.
Shortly, her attacker was identified as Anthony Orban, who was not only a police officer but one who had worked on sex cases. Orban had an accomplice who as part of a plea deal received an incredibly light sentence considering his testimony wasn't really needed in view of the masses of evidence left at the crime scene. Orban committed suicide shortly after his conviction but before he could be sentenced.
Erinn waived her anonymity to tell her story, and understandably even seven years later she still found it difficult to relate knowing how close she had come to being not only a rape victim but a murder victim.
