On January 23, 2011,the hit Fox animated series "American Dad" broadcast an episode called "Stanny Boy and Frantastic" in which the lead couple, Stan and Francine Smith, find themselves bored with their life as parents. So they seek out new couples to be friends with. They meet a couple of young, child-less thrill seekers named Tom and Cami. They go all kinds of outings like the circus and parkour running and mountain climbing. Wanting to keep the fact that they have children hidden from Tom and Cami, Stan and Francine go out of their way to avoid their kids, at one point denying them flat-out in front of their new friends. The episode ends with Tom and Cami getting pregnant.
On December 6, 2017, "American Housewife" released the episode "The Couple" on ABC. In this episode, Katie and Greg are bored with their lives as parents, finding other couples with kids equally boring. Then they meet a young, childless couple named Zach and Courtney. Katie and Greg go out of their way to make sure their new friends have no idea that the former has children, at one point tossing money at them to go to the candy store as the latter approaches them on the street. Katie and Greg go to all kinds of outings with Zach and Courtney, and the episode ends with the latter finding out they're going to have a baby.
