For 'Quite Mundane'....? I have been an avid QI viewer from the start and whilst I don't know why exactly, (maybe it caught me at the wrong time or something) this episode in particular seems almost devoid of the wit, humour, interest and obscure facts that usually make it good viewing.
It would be easy to simply blame Toksvig, and whilst she isn't anywhere near as good a host as Stephen Fry, (and rather fatuously dressed as a Christmas elf in this episode) it isn't as simple as that. It is almost as if the folk that make the show have run out of good ideas (and perhaps have intentionally dumbed the show down too) and in combination with a set of guest panellists that don't sparkle, the end result is pretty dull overall.
What a shame. I'd far sooner watch a re-run of an older episode on 'Dave'. I do hope that this was just a blip.
