It's def an off movie, almost enjoyable.....

I fully enjoy movies that are odd and unusual and this movie is definitely odd and unusual. While the budget seems to be very low I must give credit to the actors, some of them were quite good given what the plot is which I won't spoil. I dont mind that there was a lot of character development with the main protagonist Japanese girls in the beginning o the movie but it jars with the overall tone of the movie and too much time was spent on boring dialogue considering. While this movie won't win any awards it is ok if you don't have many other choices. To be honest there is a scene I will only refer to as the "Chippendale" scene that makes it worth a gander. Aside from that the movie could have been written better, it felt like a film student's abandoned child.

An Absolute Mess!

This movie started out promising but quickly turned to crap! It made no sense, nothing was explained, was just extremely stupid. It's mind boggling to me that anyone would think that people would enjoy watching such a stupid mess. I think they were trying to copy Hostel but failed BIG TIME! Don't waste your time!

"Maybe We'll Meet Good People Who Will Be Our Friends Forever!"...

THE CHICKEN PARTY stars Megumi Kabe and Ami Shimada as sisters Koume and Sakura Watanabe. In the US for the first time, the two get lost, and wind up being invited to the event of the title. After a few days of sightseeing and shopping, they decide to go to the party.

One good thing about this movie is the character development of the Watanabe sisters. They have an actual story, and time is taken to allow it to emerge. This makes us feel comfortable with them, before the peril takes place. There is much debate over whether they should even attend the party at all, rather than simply plunging into it like most of the bubble-heads in similar films.

At the party, Sakura is open minded and warm, while Koume is suspicious and watchful. At first, all appears normal, and the Watanabes find themselves among several international guests. As the evening progresses, things become a bit odd and increasingly uncomfortable, with slight hints that something entirely sinister could be brewing. It's when the "final game" is played, that the true terror unfolds.

TCP takes the idea of the "Ugly American" to the tenth power, making it a sort of reverse HOSTEL. Of course, due to its minuscule budget, this film relies more on growing tension, disturbing exposition, and a few grisly set pieces, instead of non-stop gore.

The only complaint would be with the running time, which is about 20-30 minutes too long. While watching, one can see where a great deal of static could have been eliminated, and the whole movie tightened up. This is unfortunate, because this could have been much better. Some of the dialogue, especially from the party's hosts, could have been shortened or left out entirely. We get it, they're nuts! One particular "dance" scene is both humorous and creepy at the same time!

As it is, it's still worth a watch, and has a memorable finale...

Warning: Spoilers
The first uh, what seems like an hour is not even in english. I could barely pay attention cuz it's so boring and in an another language I had to read to top it off. Weapon finally come out and I see a glimmer of hope. False hope. How this bucket of garbage managed to get a 5.1 is beyond me. Maybe a negative 5 ugh. I never leave reviews, this is my first. That is how hard this sucked!
