Frightening & Intense Scenes

Severe
52 of 82 found this severe
The film focuses on a group of teenage girls that get trapped in an underwater Mayan ruin with a shark. The sense of peril is constant throughout, and most of the movie has a very claustrophobic feel. The girls often scream and cry in fear.
The water is very murky and dark, which leads to many jump scares.
All of the attacks are intense, particularly the scene where the characters try to climb the cliff and the ending.
Characters are swept away violently by a strong current as they try to navigate through the ruins.
A girl is shown being bullied at the beginning of the film. She is almost in tears. This might be upsetting for some.
There are a few tense and emotional family moments.
At times, body parts of previous victims are shown suddenly, usually causing a jump scare. Some of these images are graphic.
The Mayan temple has a creepy atmosphere to it.
Jumpscares, where the sharks appear out of nowhere, show up multiple times.
A jumpscare where a girl tries to touch a fish and it unnaturally screeches at her.
