- (Recap of previous episode's final minutes.)
Galvanax and Madam Odius must make sure that Viera's downed Lion Ship is destroyed. They task Drillion to handle it. Madam Odius goes to present Drillion an upgrade that'll leave the Power Rangers no chance.
With her ship down, Viera comes upon her ship's red antigravity crystal jammed in a floating wooden beam. It is damaged.
In the secret base at Summer Grove High, Mick and Redbot finish restoring all the Power Ranger weapons. Though they're back to full strength, the Rangers realize it's not enough to stop Drillion. Calvin spots a Lion Pin on Hayley's purse. It heats up in Hayley's hand, drops to the floor and becomes Viera. Her sudden appearance in their secret base puts the boy Rangers on guard, but hearing of her crash-landing gains their sympathy and their thanks for helping them out of a tight spot. How can they help? By fixing her damaged crystal.
Brody turns to Mick for any "mechanical genius" ideas, but Mick isn't sure they should help her. It was Viera's royal family who took Mick and a hundred others from the Lion Galaxy and sold them as slaves to Galvanax. He hasn't seen his parents in twenty years.
Viera concurs with Mick's story and apologizes for her family's cruel practices. She admits she initially came to Earth with an intend to show she can rule with an iron fist, but the Rangers have shown she can rule a kinder way - the Power Ranger way - and she now intends to return home and prove it.
The Nexus Prism shows a vision of the Lion Ship, one Mick recalls seeing before. Perhaps it's a vision of using Ninja Steel to turn the Lion Ship into a Megazord. There's precious little Ninja Steel left for a new Power Star but, with a little reluctance, Mick agrees to get working on it with Redbot.
In the countryside, Victor's glad to be back outdoors where he can clear his mind and concentrate on important things - like how to be more popular. A wide shot reveals that, rather than running, he's riding a rickshaw pulled by volunteer slave Monty.
Victor spots a boulder (with a red crystal fragment embedded in it) curiously floating in mid-air. Monty suspects the crystal and removes it, causing the boulder to drop onto their toes. They can't budge the rock nor free their feet, not until Monty reapplies the crystal, causing the rock to fly up quickly, hitting their chins like a punch in the face that knocks them on their butts. Victor quickly thinks to use the crystal to garner his fiftieth trophy.
Drillion revels with his new arm armament from Madam Odius. With high expectations all around, Drillion teleports down to the fallen Lion Ship to attract the Rangers and slay them.
Drinking milkshakes, Sarah, Levi and Preston agree that Mick and Redbot haven't finished making the Star for Lion Ship Megazord yet and better get a move on as Drillion could attack at any moment.
Victor hands them each a flier announcing his upcoming breakage of the world's weightlifting record. Levi courteously (but insincerely) wishes him luck and moves on.
Mick pours molten Ninja Steel into a mold. An alarm alerts the Rangers of Buzz-cams in the Western Woods. Western Woods! That, Viera says, is where her ship crash-landed. Calvin bets "he's" going there to destroy it. With Mick's assurance to send the new Zord Star as soon as it's done, Calvin, Sarah and Brody head out, notifying the other Rangers to join them.
As Drillion approaches the Lion Ship on the mountainside with wicked delight, the Ranger teens appear. Drillion asks if they remember what happened the last time they met. They do, but Preston (with trepidation showing) shouts back that things'll be different this time (he hopes). The Rangers power up.
Drillion exclaims they don't stand a chance against his new Toolbox Arm. "We're not afraid of you," shouts Red Ranger defiantly. "You will be," says Drillion, and the fight begins, with Buzz-cams settling in to send images back to the excited audience up in the Galaxy Warrior studio.
"What do you know?" exclaims Cosmo Royale. "Drillion's on fire, and the Rangers stone-cold stink!"
With Pink and Blue Power Rangers at his side, Red Ranger calls Mick for the new Zord Star. Mick flings the still-cooling Ninja Steel Star into the Nexus Prism. A new Power Star emerges and, escaping Mick, lodges in Viera's armor where it affects a change.
As Drillion continues to toss around the Rangers, a new device materializes on Red Ranger's wrist. Red Ranger asks Mick if this is the new Zord Star, but Mick believes the Nexus Prism has something else in mind for them. "What do we do?" asks Red. Mick advises spinning the star, Red Ranger does (Lion Fire Ninja Spin!), and Viera's Lion Fire armor vanishes from her body.
With Viera's armor appearing on him, the Red Ranger feels energized and becomes Lion Fire Red. Viera exclaims the Rangers have a fighting chance now. Mick declares that he didn't believe Viera had truly changed but now sees that she really is on their side. Mick tells Red Ranger he'll return to finishing up the new Zord Star that'll turn the Lion Ship into a Zord.
With dread, Drillion (along with the rest of the Rangers) sees Red Ranger standing in Lion Fire Armor. In a Lion Fire Sprint, Red Ranger knocks Drillion into the rock face of the mountainside. "Viera says hello," gloats the Red Ranger. He pummels Drillion, sending shock waves through and past Drillion to impact crater holes in the rocky mountainside behind him.
Drillion declares it's his turn, but Red Ranger is too fast and knocks Drillion backwards yet again.
Cosmo is horrified at this turn of events.
Drillion finally launches a counter-attack, which Red Ranger handles unscathed.
The other Rangers stand in awe of the Lion Fire Red Ranger. Red Ranger admires his new power, too. The fight continues.
With Red succeeding, the other Rangers join in, ganging up on Drillion to catch him in gold chains, leaving it to Gold Ranger's Storm Star Lightning Mode Ninja Spin Ninja Lightning Attack. His overhead blast forms a storm cloud above Drillion, striking the foe with lightning. Red Ranger applies a Lion Fire Slash to cut into Drillion and his team's chains, sending Drillion rolling across the ground, now without Madam Odius' Toolbox Arm upgrade.
Red Ranger locks in the Lion Fire Armor Star - Ninja Spin! - and calls forth the Lion Fire Flame Strike Final Attack (literally an elongating sword of flame). The Rangers celebrate as Drillion becomes an exploding fireball.
Cosmo stands a little stunned by this, so Galvanax orders Drillion's immediate gigantification. A Kudabot complies.
As the Rangers find themselves facing Giant Drillion (complete with Madam Odius' Toolbox Arm upgrade), Red Ranger Brody calls Mick for that new Zord Star. Mick throws a new Ninja Steel Star into the Nexus and utters "Make me a star." The Prism fires back with a Lion Fire Zord Star, and Mick heads outside to throw it to the Red Ranger. "Lucky we had enough steel," chimes in Redbot.
The new Star hits the Lion Ship, making it a Zord. Red Ranger boards it. Drillion fires an attack, with no result. Red Ranger energizes the Lion Fire Zord, which causes the skies to darken with storm clouds, striking Drillion with fear. The Zord stands up to become the Lion Fire Megazord.
As Drillion and Lion Fire Megazord battle (with the Lion Fire Megazord impervious to Drillion's attacks), the other Power Rangers watch in admiration.
Red Ranger applies a Lion Fire Spin Strike, merging his star clubs into a single spinning star. Drillion deflects the attack. Red turns the Megazord back into a regular Zord and applies (much to Drillion's dread) a Lion Fire Slash Final Attack. Drillion turns into one last exploding fireball, the skies clear, and the Lion Fire Star Clubs appear back in Lion Fire Megazord's hands (who has, at some point unseen, resumed standing to again become a Megazord). "Show's over, Ninjas win!" The other five Rangers whoop and cheer.
Back inside the secret Ranger base at Summer Cove High School, Brody thanks Viera (back in her Lion Fire Armor) for her help before she returns to the Lion Galaxy. Before she goes, she has a surprise for Mick - communication with his parents. Delighted to see one another, they ask Mick if he'll be coming home. Mick, realizing his duty against Galvanax, promises to return home one day, just not now.
Viera pledges her service and her armor if they ever need it again, and journeys back in her repaired ship to the Lion Galaxy.
Back in the school's main lobby, Victor prepares to break the weight-lifting record, aiming for two tons. An announcer stands ready to present him a trophy if successful. Victor does a few kick moves to warm up the crowd as Monty applies Viera's anti-gravity crystal fragment. Preston recognizes the fragment and alerts his fellow Rangers, but they can't interfere without bringing up too many questions.
Victor begins his lift, acting out the strain of the weight. He completes the lift, the trophy is his, but in his eagerness to accept it he abandons the two-ton weight, which remains floating in mid-air. With everyone agog over the floating weight, Monty finally catches Victor's attention to it. Victor quickly hands back the trophy and microphone and scoots beneath the floating weight to grab the bar and declare, "Ooo, it's so heavy!"
The announcer declares him a cheat. Victor declares it's not cheating if you DESERVE to win. Spotting the red crystal with the weight still over Victor's head, the announcer removes it. Now supporting a weight he can't handle, Victor drops it. It crashes through the floor (with Victor and Monty soon to fall in afterward). From the depths of the hole, Victor asks if he can still keep the trophy. The announcer says no. All the Power Ranger teens and Mick laugh.
