I don't mind him having a back story and fleshed out character, but the females that play his ex-wife and daughter are awful. Their characters are awful and they are poorly acted. All other secondary characters are wonderful, please write out the family SOON!!!
Second season & his family is still around and still annoying...

The first show wasn't bad, introducing the characters can be a bit slow for any new series.I didn't mind it at all and it was Brisbane for a change.

Interesting series but Gruffudd's over acting annoying at best. His over the top emotionalism, despite the characters' circumstances, does not feel sincere. They should have gone with an Aussie actor.

The first episode, and some subsequent episodes, made it seem dexter-esque to me, but it is quite different. Enjoyed the first season and the beginning of the second and Harrow's character, along with the other leads, make this show pleasant to watch.
Nice to have overarching stories and character development in a 'case of the week' show.

Light, funny, poignant at times, but woefully overacted by all the characters. Enjoyable nonetheless as it doesn't strain the brain.

First season was quite good. The second was awful - illogical behaviour etc. Simply badly written. The third is somehow in the middle. What's most annoying is the absolute catastrophic acting of the main character. I only saw him before in the fantastic four. It was enough for that. But here it's sometimes almost funny how bad he is. Unbelievable.
Lots of reviews on here all agree, Ioan Gruffudd loves playing a medical examiner (ABCs "Forever" was cancelled for ripping off the book, coincidentally Forever was essentially just "New Amsterdam")
Harrow is a good show, it took me a minute to figure out what country it was set in, as it way too sunny for England, but not dirty enuf for the US.
The production quality is good, much better than BBC. It definitely has the ABC quality. It's interesting how similar Australian ABC is to USA's ABC.
I'm still on season 1, but it's fairly obvious Fern killed her stepfather and then Harrow covered it up. Or perhaps the dead guy was abusing Fern and Harrow killed him, but based in Ferns jumpy behavior, I'm betting it's the former.

Harrow is a Sherlock-ian medical examiner who lives on a boat, deals with personal issues, fights crime, finds love, and ignores any legal procedures that get in his way.
Its a clone of the short lived show "Forever." The actor basically plays the same lead character. Its clear the creators of Harrow wanted it that way. Some of the early episodes take entire shots from Forever and Dexter. I also see a lot of "Castle" in this. It has the potential to be a good show. Sometimes it IS. But.....
Unfortunately, the writing gets lazy pretty quick. The plots and the characters make less and less sense. They main characters don't bother to investigate the increasing number of crimes and deaths around them ( so that poor Harrow has to run around and do it). Car blows up outside their office? No one cares. Stuff like that. The viewers are supposed to ignore a lot of nonsense - and that nonsense is dragged though several episodes and used as main plot devices. For example - multiple characters are framed for multiple things. Absolutely no one but Harrow is concerned. Main characters show up in a scene, do whatever it takes to make life more difficult for Harrow, and then they go. And his ex-wife? By the end of Season 2, she's just there to be annoying. Most of the characters have similar fates. I'd swear some of them are given 'evil' makeup and lighting for a scene or episode just to keep the weak plot going.

Each episode comes with 20-30 plot holes and complete lack of common sense but if you don't care for common sense and don't mind a show that absolutely lacks logic, this is a great show for you to enjoy.
You just need to stop thinking and trying to make sense of everything though because as soon as you try to apply logic to this story, the whole thing becomes totally unwatchable because of how utterly illogical and ridiculous it is.
The way they solve cases in episodes makes absolutely NO sense at all. They go around collecting evidence, looking at piles of proof but it's all inconclusive. Then in the last 5 minutes Daniel Harrow just has a hunch and he immediately knows who the killer is and he just goes to talk to the suspected killer who admits everything. What was the point of collecting all that evidence and going through all those motions if every case will be solved by Harrow having a sudden hunch out of blue and just figuring it out like a lightbulb went off in his head?

He hates authority. He has Sherlockian insights as a pathologist. He lives on a boat. He has an Asian assistant.
Jeez, is Glen Larson getting royalties for this? I hope so.
That said, it's a pleasant enough procedural.
