If it is real, then I'm happy for him

"Jim Carrey: I Needed Color" is a 6-minute documentary short film from this year (2017) and it is the first directorial effort apparently by prolific and successful producer David L. Bushell. But the star here is of course the name you can read in the title: Golden Globe winning American actor Jim Carrey. I am quite a fan of his and it's a bad joke he did not get an Oscar nomination for The Truman Show for example, but we will talk about that on another occasion. This really short film we have here is about Carrey's new passion for painting (just like George W. Bush for example) and we get to see many of his paintings and also hear from him why he so much enjoys this new hobby. It sounds deep and important to him, but he is so good of an actor that I was always unsure if he is just toying with us and that it is all make-believe or if he really loves this activity like it sounds from this film here. I hope it's the latter as I admire his talent and I hope he found something that makes him truly happy and defines his life from now on, even if it would be a pity if we see him on screen on fewer and fewer occasions. But I can live with that. As for this one here, it is not a film that will get you into painting or anything, but that also never was the intention. I liked it overall and it is somewhat soothing. A good watch for my fellow Carrey fans.
