1994: As the government votes on reducing the gay age of consent to sixteen, in line with that for heterosexuals, seventeen-year-old Andrew comes to London to be present for this historic moment, but he's dismayed when it is only reduced to eighteen. Missing his train home, he spends the night with an older man, Marcus. He reflects on the disappointments, excitement, and ironies of his trip, underscored by anxiety that news coverage of the event might have been seen by his parents.
