Just awesome

Warning: Spoilers
Marthe Keller needs to win an Emmy. Ines Melab is also fantastic. All star cast and genius writing. Want to see this story line evolve. Spoiler- episode 2 sucked :/

What a Delightful Surprise! Highly entertaining.

The royal family and their tragic deaths have always fascinated me. I've read books about them and the terrible situation they lived in. I've never believed that any of the family survived, but the very idea that the line might still exist is a fantasy that I'm willing to be entertained by.

Entertainment exists to entertain the viewer. This show is entertaining. It isn't a documentary claiming to be a revelation of hidden truths.

I found episode 1 (S1) to be a delightful ride into a fantasy that I have always hoped would one day be made - to entertain me. I wasn't looking for facts or a plot that wounded me by tricking me and sliding into another tragic and dark show. I'm sick to death of that sort of thing.

I wanted to be pleasantly surprised, to smile, and to rejoice at the conclusion. I wanted entertainment that didn't depress me and this episode delivered.

If I were looking for elusive truths surrounding the deaths of the family I certainly not watch this show. I would be a fool if I did.

I was entertained. I was delighted. I can't wait to watch the next episode - and be entertained by the fantasy, the creative plot, and characters that will keep my attention and make me root for them.

Are you looking for a wonderfully entertaining fantasy about this mysterious family? Look no further. This is the show to watch. I highly recommend it.

Entertainment. Not documentary.

Wonderful!

Old white dude saves the day

Warning: Spoilers
Colorful well acted characters in my favorite city doesn't lead to a believable story. Yeah the old white guy, just swoops in (and impregnates) the poor ethnic girl (20 years younger), while his 14 year younger girlfriend is upstairs sleeping. Hajar (quite conservative Muslim), who is studying to be a nurse, needs him to nurse her scrapped knee at his pad, girlfriend upstairs, and submits to passion. Oh yes, only in Weinsteins world!

This episode has - by far - THE most ridiculous plot and storyline I've ever seen. And from Weiner no less. Sweet Jesus.

Tired and predictable plot

I wanted to like this, but I could tell in the first 5 mins how it would end. The characters were great and well acted, but how many times have we seen stories like this before? Not very original, and very predictable outcome.

Poor choice in filmmaking

I'm sure it's critacally artistic but the jumping back and forth from a French to English does not lend to a smooth viewing experience. I quit 20 minutes in. I won't be trying the other episodes either now. A bummer really, I was looking forward to this series.
