Plot Summary

In the "dramedy" short "Gringa," Vanessa, a Cuban-American woman, has a foot in two worlds. When she rushes home to pack for a trip to Cuba, her eccentric Abuelo hijacks her day, enlisting Vanessa to track down an urgently needed car part for a family member in Havana. Based loosely on the filmmakers' real-life experiences, Vanessa learns to reset her priorities and walks the line between her two cultures. This short is a Moving Picture Institute original.
