Factual errors

The movie is shown to take place in 1967. The village streets are shown to be paved with concrete. This was not common in the 60s. Most village streets were either unpaved at that time or paved with bricks. Concrete paved streets became common after 2000.
The turban style worn by Sikh characters is of current times and not that of 60s.
In the beginning of the movie, the postman is delivering telegrams at night time. Indian postal service does not deliver at night time.
In the beginning of the movie, the postman is delivering telegrams to the villagers. The villages are shown to have street lights, this is incorrect. Villages did not have street lights at that time, in fact, some villages did not even have electricity in the 60s.
The movie shows the soldiers carrying INSAS rifles while patrolling in some scenes. However, the INSAS rifle was introduced in Indian Army only in 1998,while the incident portrayed in the movie is that of 1967.

Revealing mistakes

The markings on the map used by Chinese official is in English language instead of Chinese language.

Miscellaneous

The movie is shown to take place in the late 60s, yet the style of gates on the houses when the postman is delivering telegrams and army officers are carrying ashes to the families of the martyred soldiers is of recent times. Most house did not have iron gates at that time but wooden ones.

Plot holes

Maj. Harbhajan Singh had asked Second Lieutenant Attar Singh, to inform his family members, regarding his final wish to scatter his ashes (on the event of his death and after cremation), at his favourite paddy field. However, during the handover of ashes, Attar Singh fails to mention about this last wish to Harbhajan Singh's bereaved family members.
