"Cuba" by The Gibson Brothers was a double A-side with "Better Do It Salsa" and was No.16 in the UK charts when this episode aired. It reached its peak position of No.12 the following week.
Producer Michael Hurll pushed Syd and Eddie into doing more and more animal-based skits during the second series, something that wasn't popular with their agent, Norman Murray.
In his 2005 autobiography, "Larger Than Life", Eddie recalled: "We had a horse that could count, a Mastermind sketch with some penguins and some geese, and a giant pig that Syd tried to ride for some bizarre reason, which Norman Murray went mad about. 'Just do your act, Dolly,' he used to say. He didn't understand the need for all these crazy stunts, but they were often very funny."
