There are vast discrepancies with the ages of the characters. In the original miniseries, set in 1976, Anna Madrigal was 55/56, and Michael Tolliver was 26. In this series, set in the present day (2018/19) they are stated to be 90 and 54 respectively when Anna should be almost 100 and Michael should be 69.
In the final episode, Michael reminisces about when he first moved to 28 Barbary Lane after he saw an ad in a newspaper. In actual fact, he moved in with his friend Mona Ramsey, who was already living in the building, and he chose to remain in the apartment after she left.
