Plot Summary

In the 1920s, Tijuana was a magnet for movie stars, mobsters, and dignitaries escaping the doldrums of Prohibition. Born into a well-to-do French family, Carmen was sent to Mexico to marry a prominent Mexican businessman. Upon porting, she escaped with the fierce determination to be the author of her own life. Well educated and able to speak several languages, coupled with a sophisticated business savvy, Carmen was fully equipped to survive. Recognizing the opportunity, she marries the soon-to-be Tijuana Chief of Police. With access to the Mayor, a Tequila distillery, and a local hotel owner, Carmen orchestrates the most lucrative business of the day - Smuggling alcohol into the United States. It's like Peaky Blinders meets House of Cards with the glamor of Downton Abbey on Tequila - and helmed by a woman.
