An Entertaining Look at Gumbo

We loved this film and watched it while enjoying tasty bowls of our own homeade gumbo. Learned a lot about the origins of the dish and the many variations of ingrediants.

I grew up eating and making gumbo, and I had no idea of the history of this delicious dish. I learned so much about gumbo file and other items. The documentary is so interesting and well done. I really enjoyed hearing the accent of various persons in the film. I hadn't heard it in years. What are the best or "correct" ingredients for gumbo? That's an ongoing debate. It's evident a great deal of research was involved in developing the documentary. I have watched the film several times and each time, I crave gumbo. I watched it again today. Afterwards, I went to the store to purchase everything needed so I can make gumbo tomorrow. I'm sure I'll watch Gumbo again. Maybe next time with a group of friends as we have a bowl of gumbo. Great job.
