In honor of International Women's Day 2017, over 200 Israeli and Palestinian women came together in Beit Jala, Israel in order to paint with graffiti expressing their hopes and aspirations for peace, break down, and then cross over a symbolic, small-scale model of the West Bank Barrier (also known as the "Security Barrier" or the "Separation Wall") before walking together in silence to the actual West Bank Barrier/Security Barrier/Separation Wall and lighting a candle in memory of their loved ones lost to the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict.
The Parents Circle-Families Forum, bringing together bereaved parents of children lost to both sides of the Conflict, also sponsored a panel of women speakers further encouraging participants to strive for peace between Israelis and Palestinians on this same day.
Im Eshkakhekh (Alright Interlude) (2017), a short art film/mini-documentary produced for non-commercial, educational purposes, briefly features archival news footage of this historic event.
