This is the standard European TV fare. Yet, for a subject so interesting and so varied as the Art Basel show, it is amazing what kind of junk the state educated people can get.
I mean for 30 minutes of show, they get some old lady who talks about the church and university. Is Art Basel the work of the University of Basel students? No. But who cares? That is all she can get. And she has to be there because some behinds have to be kissed. So is the director of the festival. I am sure he is quite good at giving phone calls to relevant people. But the guy can't talk. And maybe he can't understand most of the works there. Who cares? He is the director! But have you heard about the Pope of Basel? That is very important to understand the artists that might come from say the United States.
Because it is a documentary made by bureaucrats to please the bureaucrats, they waste some more time on priding themselves with how diverse the participants are. Never mind they are mostly white. An American and a German, now that is what the City Hall would call diversity.
I also find shocking that the people who were found to talk to the camera are extremely limited in intellect: they are talking like a provincial used car salesman.
So overall, a very unpleasant half an hour.
