Storyline

The Cherokees - The infamous Australian pop group from the sixties, are now on a new and updated mission, in their all new three part adventure to find the Burger van at the end of the gig. Guided by the evil Lord Vespertine, the band set out on a sojourn to find the immortal gold record that will establish their sagging recording career and make way for quest to find the great burger van that will reveal all - if not fame, then fortune that they crave. An all new adventure, surreal, zany and comical mixed in with some of the famous Cherokees tunes is a nod to any 'Monkees' fans, by way of an enchanting comical tale in the same veil as the sixties popular TV show. So sit back, get your rocks off and enjoy Pete and the boys doing what they do best. Written by Earl Barrington

Much of the film (90 minute version) contains scenes which are largely shot in an 'ad-lib' mode as the producers felt that this would add more realism and authenticity to the bands plight. See more »

Quirky, funny, surreal and likeable music!

Introducing the Cherokees as you've never seen them before! Well, here's to what is a new feature length movie, of which is pieced together from the TV shows that ran in Australia. Plot is somewhat muddled, but the characters are fun, and some of the music is really catchy. Take it for what it is, and you'll enjoy this tantalising little sojourn. What the film does offer is laughs, likeable rogues, and a few nicely put together sketches much the same as the 60's tv show 'Monkees' If you can catch this, then worth your time. Like they say, Grab your guitars and hitch a ride - and enjoy life on the road with the Cherokees! Recommended.
