The Lion's whiskers are white. When Prince LaVelle cuts the whiskers, they are white and only a few are cut. The next scene, the whiskers are two-toned and are more than what was cut.
Lavelle was conceived in Akeem and Semmi's apartment, the night they go out to nightclubs. In Coming to America (1988), that night, they're seen returning alone to the apartment without have had success with any girl, and met with Clarence who invite them to come with him to the Black Awareness Week, where Akeem sees Lisa by first time. Lavelle's conception wasn't possible.
When Akeem learns he has a son, he is presented with an artist rendition of the young man. In this sketch Lavelle is facing left. Later, when Semmi hands him the sketch, Lavelle is facing right. And then when they find him in New York, the portrait in the sketch is facing left again.
Lavel's mother said to put 31 candles on his BD cake. They said it was 30 years since Prince Akeem was in America. Lavel could not be 31. It should be no more than 29
During the lion scene, Prince LaVelle is seen holding the scissors in his right hand and cuts one whisker on the right side. However, the whiskers are cut on the left side.
Akeem's son is, according to this premise, the result of Akeem and Semi picking up women after the night out at the bar in the earlier film. But in the original film, some days after this, Semi says to Akeem (while cleaning windows at the fast food restaurant): "Do you realize I have not had sex since we came to America?". Therefore, Akeem could not have produced a male heir.
There is no mention as to how Akeem has 3 daughters in this film. If this is the case then the 3 daughters were born 20 odd years after the 1st film making them age between 13 to 19.
When Semmi (Arsenio Hall) tells Prince Akeem (Eddie Murphy) about the Queens night they went out to find him a bride, Semmi is shown walking though the nightclub. As this is a flashback from 30 years ago, editors used CGI to make Arsenio Hall look exactly like his younger self in the face. However, when he touches Lavell's mother (played by Leslie Jones), his hand is not CGI edited and shows the now senior actor's hand touching her.
Lavelle quotes Bruce Lee as saying "Be like water". Although Bruce Lee quoted several attributes and likened them to water, the main quote is simply "Be Water".
When Akeem is training with his eldest daughter his other daughter comes into the scene with a forward roll. She clearly loses her wig on the floor and the its right back on her head when she comes out of the roll. (She does not lose her wig as the very first shot shows that she has very long hair with many hair bands and thick bushy hair at the ends, it is the end that drops to the floor)
Not one character in this movie seems to be concerned or at least angry about the fact that Mary could only have Akeem's son because she raped him.
General Izzi (Wesley Snipes) towards the end said "don't treated him like a howler monkey grazing in a field of horny goat weed". Neither Howler monkey (New World) or horny goat weed (Asia) are African origin.
