- Three kids and a single mom help save an exotic animal Game Farm sanctuary
A single mom and her three kids have to move from urban Los Angeles to the rural Pacific Northwest. They help out at a local Game Farm sanctuary and fall in love with the amazing exotic animals and the country life style.
When they learn the Game Farm is in financial jeopardy, it's all hands on deck. To raise funds they try everything from competing for prizes in skateboard competitions to launching a crowd funding campaign with a hilarious video.
But there's the local power broker who covets the land and a mysterious stranger from Texas who offers to take the animals when the game farm has to close.
The clock is ticking to the last minute when the money has to be put up, but then the kids discover what 'the bad guys' are really up. Enlisting the Sheriff, the race is on to stop them.
This heart-warming family comedy with romance, music, humor, not to mention lions and tigers, is a fun filled adventure for the whole family.
STORYLINE:
Their house foreclosed in Los Angeles, the Macklin family, single Mom Mandy (44), mature attractive Becky (17), skateboarder Tommy (14), and precocious Sally (11) set off for Mandy's estranged father William's house in Washington State. Three very unhappy children from the "big city" arrive in the rural Northwest to a warm welcome from Hannah, married to Mandy's father, and a cold welcome from William.
Hannah works at the Olympic Game Farm (an exotic wild animal sanctuary) owned by Ethan (48). Ethan's son Cameron (18) takes Mandy and the kids on a tour of this vast array of animal life from a rescued lion and tiger to a tame petting zoo to a large aquarium with exotic fish. They're bowled over by how much fun the interaction with the animals is and the new rural family life style.
But the Game Farm is in deep financial trouble and banker Pennington and his son Buster tell Ethan that if he doesn't pay back their $10,000 loan in thirty days, Pennington's taking the land over and kicking out the animals.
Mandy and the kids volunteer to work on the short-handed Game Farm. Hilarity ensues as the city kids go from one well-intentioned blunder after another. But using their skills they search for a way to come up with the money.
Arriving on the scene is charismatic JB Bassett who manages the largest game farm in Texas. He offers to buy the lion and tiger for the $10,000. Ethan, hoping for a miracle, tells him to wait and gets JB to promise to take all the animals if Ethan loses the Game Farm.
On the home front, the once unhappy kids are settling in, Becky's hitting it off with Cameron, Sally's coming up with money raising ideas, Mandy's being romantically pursued by both JB and Ethan, and grumpy grandfather William softens and takes Tommy to the local skate park. Lots of fun with the animals and the kids.
At the park Buster, seeing Tommy as a threat in the upcoming skate boarder competition, creates an 'accident' which sends Tommy to the hospital with a broken wrist.
The kids, immersed in social media, come up with a plan to raise money through the crowd funding site, Kickstarter. But they need to make a video. Everything goes wrong during the shoot with one screw up after another. Discouraged they watch the result, but realize the "Buster Keaton" screws up are a riot. They put it up on You Tube.
All is going well, Tommy wins the country skateboard competition, the video has gone viral, and the dollars are pouring in, the town is supportive.
And then disaster strikes. Someone at night has let all the animals out. A lion is on the loose. Ethan could be more than ruined.
Can our three LA kids come up with a way to save the day?
"You betcha".
