I sign up to this site just so I can comment on this series..everyone has their opinions.just felt strongly to say take it as caring.. I have just watched first series.. I was pulled to watch each episode..I knew he actually had a crew ..I tried not to focus on that and just enjoy the people and scenery and stories.. Live and love

Good, a very heart warming show, and can be emotional at some points, However,
ED122304_TGG24 June 2019
This show is a good show in general, don't listen to what others say about the show. They say that he "is a white guy takes advantage of poor people" but if you watch the show its clear that he is not. If you like travel, or just want to see a positive message, this show is for you.

Its pretty clear that some of it is obviously scripted, and the fact that he has an entire camera crew with him, completely ruins the illusion of "relying on the kindness of strangers".

But overall the show has a positive message, and in my opinion, is worth watching

One of The Most Extraordinary Shows on Television
michael-3719417 May 2017
Leon Logothetis deserves not only an Emmy Award for this exquisitely beautiful show, he deserves a Noble Peace Price.

In a world seemingly filled with so much cynicism and fear, The Kindness Diaries shows it's just a matter of where you look. As the introduction to each show says, from up close, there is enough goodness and kindness to make the world go round.

And this is where The Kindness Diaries is such a wonderful contribution to humankind – Leon Logothetis magnifies that up-close side and makes us fall in love not only with humanity, but with him, as well.

My only regret is, due to the rigors of his journey, that it just may be a one-season show. That would truly be a shame and I hope the star (the true meaning of a shining one) finds a way to continue his life-giving message for the entire world to draw on and model.

A feel good show...regardless of the miserable cynical people who see it as something else!
privatemiss8 November 2020
Why is it some people just don't see the good & find criticism in everything? I'm watching the second series & I find it to be very little about the guy Leon & much more about the good in the people he encounters. He offers a gift or help to certain people which move him...yes he has a crew so it's probably scripted to a certain degree but that doesn't mean kind people don't exist & that the people he encountered aren't real, does it? For f&@ks sake, can anything ever be just enjoyed anymore without looking for reasons to be cynical, critical, miserable & negative?

I think its a wonderful feel good show & it reminds me that there are wonderful, thoughtful, kind, generous, selfless & big hearted people in the world...a change from hearing the daily news stories of the bad things people do.

Loved Season 1
freshlash5 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
So far just finished Season 1 and i teared up many times throughout. I felt the show was genuine and i liked how the gifts were chosen based on what the people really needed and not gifts that those with money 'think' they should have.

The show has reminded me that joy comes from connecting, giving and loving.

It was a great binge and I'm taking away a lot of positive from it

Don't think too hard
Henry-klein8 April 2019
It's about the message and it was done very well. If this doesn't make you thankful and understand their is good in humanity you need to look in the mirror and stop blaming others for your situation. The haters who say Leon is privileged missed the entire point.

Kindness Really Does Exist
I am watching episode 7 of this extraordinary series and in Leon's journey from Los Angeles to India (mostly on his cute little yellow motorbike with sidecar, Kindness I) not once has he failed to find food and shelter for the night and have someone fill his tank with gas. Surprisingly (or maybe not so surprisingly) it is the people who have the least (the homeless man in Pittsburgh and the father in Varanasi, India) who give the most although people of all races, ethnicities and religions are very generous to a stranger. You will feel better about the state of the world just by watching.

Amazing

This guy is not a pretentious guru, but his idea, strategy and message is nevertheless deep and impressive. The show is honest, touching and entertaining.

Obnoxious, pretentious and self-praising presenter
Geeyum13 June 2020
There are several people like the Denis O'Brien, who have been doing this kind of thing, and much more, for several years, without seeking any praise or fame.

This guy is so full of pretentious self-praising, it's sickening. He;s extrememly patronising. I'm surprised he isn't wearing a union jack on his travels. Although I like the idea of the program, this guy ruins it all. In reality, it's not an 'honest' program. Deep down inside, he knows that if things don't work out on his travels, he has the money to go where he wants. It's not a 'genuine' program.

This guy claims to be some sort of travel guru, yet he doesn't even know that the vast majority of Latin Americans only speak Spanish or Portuguese. He tries to communicate with Latin Americans in english (of course!!!), and the tiny amount of Italian and French that he knows. He rarely tries Spanish, the actual language of the people, even though he actually worked in Peru several years ago. So ignorant. He has the typical british attitude when travelling, to expect everyone to speak english, and not bothering to try communicate in the language of the country he is visiting.

The only reason we watched this is because this is a route that we have always wanted to do, but this is the worst show ever on it. We generally just leave it running in the background.

Watch 'Dara and Ed's Big Aventure' instead.

Mostly inspiring but...
whitfieldgeoff10 May 2019
I loved hearing the stories of other people who were trying to make a difference in the world, and to see their reactions to the gift they'd been given.

I really enjoyed seeing the different places he travelled to.

But I hated his apparent refusal to learn more than just a few words of Spanish. It gave an appearance of cultural imperialism - either you speak English, or you don't matter. Even his attempts at basic Spanish seemed to be an attempt to try Italian words for the Spanish words he didn't know. If one wants to get a free meal, one should at least know the word for "eat" in the appropriate language; "walk" was a step too much.

Ten out of ten for the content. Minus three stars the bad language.

I love the show even when it is staged
fkhan-7114717 July 2019
I get it, it is staged. I am not stupid. But it still shows that people are willing to do good even if it is small gesture.

Plus you to see so many different places.

I have seen the session 1 and already went to 2 place by watching this series. I love traveling and I like this.

I am not an expert on the shows financial side but I am sure, they do give back to those community.

Free advertisement for those community as well.

Scripted Sweetness
biglucy-9252814 February 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I must admit I only got through 3 episodes of this series before my saccharine level became too high. Idea of the series. Rich dude on funky yellow motorcycle goes around the world with"no money" relying on the kindness of strangers and is then filmed giving some of them fabulous presents.

This whole show feels very scripted and not spontaneous. First of all, the very wealthy Legothetis (net worth 14 million dollars) is not travelling around by himself. Clearly he had a camera crew with him and is making a movie. So he's not just some random poor stranger asking for a bed and some food. That takes away the whole premise of the show, and his idea. Secondly, shouldn't acts of kindness be done quietly and in private? In each episode he gives one of these Good Samaritans a big gift and films their tears of gratitude. Ugh.

Yes, some people are kind and some are not. Do we need to watch 10 hours of tv to learn this?

Heartwarming and inspiring!
melissanorthway20 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I love what Leon and his crew are doing - spreading kindness and good will around the world. The premise is that he depends on others for a meal, lodging and gas to travel the world, the ones who need the most help tend to be those who provide him with these things. And in return, he has radically changed some of their lives for the better. From providing a home and vocation training to a homeless man in the states to building a home for a widowed HIV mom of one in Thailand. It's a touching and beautiful reminder of the good in mankind.

Thought provocating series...One of the best shows I have seen in recent years
delaine092217 November 2019
I saw 2 episodes of the series on a Delta Airlines flight home from a business trip. Initially I was on the fence about watching, because the premise of a white man going to underprivileged people groups and seeking to live off them was a bit off putting, but I did it anyway. Oh am I glad I did!!! As one who seeks to travel the world and understand the lives of others; their perspectives and lifestyles, watching this program opened up my ability to see the conditions in places I will likely never get to visit. Additionally, it made me aware of opportunities to help organizations that are attempting to make a difference in the lives of some of the most vulnerable members of our global society. There are so many shows that highlight crime and violence, this one seeks to find those in our society that are doing the opposite, even in environments where you would expect to see the opposite. I will be watching more episodes now that I am home....

Season 1 was great but skip season 2
viryaceves6 March 2019
I loved every single episode of season 1.

The same cannot be said about season 2 it feels like he lost his spark and the strangers "he runs into" feel very staged . It felt like he was not really interested in getting to know latin America.

Beautiful heart warming journey
addictedaks31 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
For a guy who has comforts to step out of his comfort zone where he could easily afford a place to live in and don't need to hear ' no I can't entertain you today' He tries to make the message very clear that there are people out there who don't have much yet are willing to give. He gives them the credit that they very well deserve. There are several donations and charities made in the world made with an intent to get recognition or save tax etc. Still each of them are giving back to the community wether some one wants to be appreciated from that or not. Thats their type of karma, white karma. Not everyone can donate without talking. What I understand is that I see a side of humanity which we all need , message of a community and sharing and love . Some people talk about good things that they do, it just makes kindness louder in this world filled with marketing consumption messages . Thank you Leon for making this series.

An incredibly thought provoking tale of kindness... I was left speechless
tehillah-2441931 March 2019
I created this account purely because I was so moved by this series that I had to comment. Everyone should watch it, particularly during dark times when the world feels devoid of kindness. It's very uplifting and it shoes humanity in a beautiful light, because there is a lot of good in people if you look closely. Just a very thoughtful and genuine story, Leon had a beautiful heart.

contrived and scripted
pickles437 May 2018
Well off dude travels on the kindness of others in hopes of making a ton of money from people watching his show on netflix.

It doesn't even try to be authentic as it pans on him randomly traveling with no luggage from 15 different camera angles on his vintage motorcycle that's literally had to have been imported into America for the show because they don't sell them here.

If you are that desperate to feel good about something watch "Moana". It's a decent flick With a lot of feel good points and unlike this garbage show it is exactally what is advertised.

Enjoy the trip
nzhaggis26 February 2020
Just a short review. I loved the geography trip and lessons on both series.I loved the fact that people were helped a great deal, to their amazement. Love to know where the money comes from n how it is set up for each person. Ok, i loved everything except for the presenter. There is something peculiar about him, as was discussed in a previous review, but then i know a couple of people personally, who act n talk like him, it is weird, they come from where he comes from, so mabye it is the way they all act. He is a bit white supremist though.

Kindness is in giving
raypowell28 March 2019
There are many people that selflessly devote themselves to being kind; helping others. They do it quietly. You too can be kind. You don't need a film crew following you to do it.
