But Jennifer, you aren't in it. You're in a movie that has this song on its soundtrack. And a mighty good scene with you and the song, but you're not in the music video.

The sound of the future (now past, but still awesome)

40 years down the road A Flock of Seagulls released the then sound of the future with an impressive and futuristic sound in the great song "Space Age Love Song". The lyrics are quite simple when telling its love story but the instrumental sounds of the song makes us look far deeper into a distant future, it seems and it feels something out of this world. For that and a little more (the video performance by the group) I truly like this track.

Here, the group perform the song in this dark stage where lots of smoke occupy the space (it looks like a rocket launching pad, so there'll be flying away from here with a bang) and Michael Score's crazy hairdo defined the era - you have to see it in order to believe it, it's definitely something out of this world but one of the things that made him an icon of the 1980's, I'm just not sure if people copied him afterwards. And there's the charming glasses of Paul Reynolds, another thing from that crazy and colorful decade, and I just love the way he plays the guitar, lots of style.

As I grew up with "I Ran (So Far Away)" almost two decades after it's release, with this other song it took me some time to actually get to know it and ever since my first hearing of it I fell in love with it. Just can't stop listening to it and most recently the group got back together and released a longer version of it featuring the Prague Philharmonic. It was pretty good too. But the original still stands. And this video is a curious one that shows one doesn't need big budgets in order to create something interesting and unique. 9/10.
