Good movie about sad waste of lives
Oddly enough I was just today discussing an interview my adult som Had seen with an American sniper veteran with mental scars from from Irak and Afghanistan. Psyops Free certainly sheds a light on what our wars are doing to the soldiers right there and then, but also the larger scale of devastation caused to spouses, future kids, family and friends and whoever may come in the way of sadly damaged minds.
I like the short film format for its directness and it's quite the challenge to any director and writer since there really is no time to tell all. Psyops Free is finely made and the raising of questions around war and wasted humans works and feels very important!
Well done all!

Brilliant!
This film explores many interesting ideas, and its short, sharp, and to-the-point approach works wonders. The directing is punchy and lean, wasting not a word or second.
It truly brings home the fact that while everyone has heard of PTSD, very few people fully understand it. By distorting the viewer's sense of reality the way a soldier's is distorted, the film cleverly blurs the lines between what is real and what is hallucinatory. It effectively conveys the difficulty and terror of dealing with this frequently.
Throught provoking and surreal, I found myself gripped by this well crafted piece of work.

Packs a considerable punch
There are many interesting ideas explored here within such a tight time frame - however it being short, sharp and to the point works here. The directing is punchy and lean and not a word or second is wasted.
The fact that PTSD is something everyone has heard of and is thrown around a lot as a term, but that very few people truly and fully understand - I think this film really brings that home.
The way that it distorts the viewer's sense of reality the way the soldier's sense of reality is distorted - I think it's clever as you are not quite sure what is real and what is hallucinatory. It really makes you feel how difficult and terrifying it must be to have to deal with this on a more regular basis.
The music also underscores this feeling of being unsettled and disturbed by what is happening around you
I personally think it ended much too soon!

Fully packed short film
Psyops Free packs a lot of information and many topics into 15 minutes. High quality filmmaking, acting and storyline. There are many topics for discussion that are suggested by this film.
The far reaching and long term effects of War is possibly the most obvious.
The long term psychological effects of intensive mind training on the individual soldiers and the effect this has on their families is also very apparent and clearly damaging to all involved.
The fact that it is common knowledge and accepted that every former soldier suffers from PTSD yet we continue to send them to war. And many more!
I enjoyed it so much I forgot it was a short film and got a double shock at the end!

Cool Concept
I really enjoyed the score and sound design on this short. This film hits on universal themes of what reality is and what programs we are subjected to and have installed. Everything we see, everything we experience is recorded. Oftentimes the most traumatic experiences we go through are the recordings that constantly light up in our space controlling our mind and actions in present time. There are ways to file recordings, deprogram, and break free. Great job to the writer and director to have these themes incorporated.
Overall cool locations, cool thriller vibes, sound design was great and the score really carried the film.
Thanks for sharing your art with the world!
