During Krieger's final flashback, the command for his dogs to attack is "Action" in German. In the final sequence of
The Boys from Brazil (1978), the guard dogs are also trained to attack at the command of "Action" in American. Considering the recurring sub plot about Krieger being a clone and a former Nazi, this is an appropriate nod to the 1978 classic, which is about clones and Nazis. In both instances the dogs are Dobermann Pinschers, though Krieger's dogs are 'modified'.
