While my favorite AOT episodes are mostly from later in the series (Savagery, Assault, etc.), "Heishi" remains one of my top picks, encapsulating everything I love about this series. It features amazing action scenes, sustained tension, excellent character development, numerous shocking revelations, and possibly the most foreshadowing in a single episode before Season 3 Part 2. This becomes even more meaningful upon rewatch. "Heishi" is definitely one of the strongest episodes of early Attack on Titan.
In conclusion, "Heishi" stands out as a pinnacle episode, even amidst the later masterpieces of Attack on Titan. Its blend of intense action, sustained tension, remarkable character development, and a plethora of shocking revelations cements it as a timeless favorite. The episode's intricate foreshadowing, especially poignant upon rewatch, adds an extra layer of depth to the narrative. "Heishi" not only represents the strength of early Attack on Titan episodes but also serves as a testament to the series' enduring appeal and storytelling prowess.
