An Unhappily Married Woman Who Wants More from Life
Uriah432 December 2023
The film starts off with an attractive married woman by the name of "Palupi" (Farida Syuman) who has become quite bored with her life and, having just turned 30, has become fearful that her life is passing her by. Although her husband, "Haidar" (Ismed N. Noor) is very much in love with her, she doesn't feel like it's enough to satisfy her needs. As a result, since Haidar works as a writer in the Indonesian film industry, she uses his position to ingratiate herself with a director by the name of "Chalil" (Pitrajava Burnama) into casting her in a film project he has been working on. Sure enough, this opportunity, coupled with her good looks, draws the interest of several wealthy and influential men who promise her everything she desires. The problem, however, is that there are other equally attractive women nearby who are not only interested in the same things as her--but are much younger as well. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that this film several good things in its favor which included an interesting plot, beautiful scenery and an obviously attractive lead actress in Farida Syuman. Unfortunately, it's faults included inferior audio and film quality along with substandard English subtitles. Of course, it's possible that there are better versions of this film out there but, having said that, there were several slow scenes here and there which, coupled with poor editing, gave the film an uneven quality overall. That being said, while I don't consider this to be a bad film by any means, the rather obvious flaws just mentioned prevent me from rating it any higher than I have. Average.
