A poignant look at family change
The family farm is a thing of the past. But for those who have spent all their life there, such change is exceedingly uncomfortable. And for those who see only the pleasant human relationships which surround them, such changes are largely beside the point.
The way the title character and her somewhat challenged relation ride off in the horse-drawn buggy is indicative of the personal triumphing over the necessities of objective reality: touching, but somewhat idealistically flawed in its inability to accept the way all things always change.
Well done, but a ten- rather than a five-minute exposition would have driven home these points of interest much more convincingly.
