  • Since 1973, The Double Door Inn in Charlotte, NC has been a touchstone for blues, rock, zydeco and reggae musicians from all over the world. Music royalty, including Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Koko Taylor, and J.J. Cale, as well as countless local legends, have graced the stage in this converted house. This film traces the history of the club, from its humble beginnings to international fame and the hundreds of stories in between. Featuring interviews with club owner Nick Karres and over a dozen musicians, bartenders, music promoters and fans. STARRING: Nick Karres. FEATURING: Mike Martin, Lenny Federal, Bobby Houck, Matt Karres, Tinsley Ellis, Bob Margolin, Gina Stewart, Gigi Dover, Mark Wenner, Rick Booth, Ziad Rabie, Bill Hanna, Daniel Coston, Steve Stoeckel, Pat Walters, Dan Morrill, Jo Hawkins. The last performance at The Double Door Inn was Jan. 2, 2017. On March 3, 2017 it was bulldozed and is now a pile of rubble.
