COMEBACK of Vijay Milton
rjram-6640020 May 2017
good comeback from Vijay Milton and also great comeback from Bharath too..Story surrounded on three important characters and impact of the story nicely handled by Vijay. Character design is another plus for the movie, through the natural character design, simultaneously the movie too designed, so as a one package of movie, you can also get part in the place or plot of movie..

Kadugu is a return to form for Vijay Milton, and a make-good Film as he did with Goli Soda.

Kadugu is a return to form for Vijay Milton, and a make-good Film as he did with Goli Soda, Milton narrates a story whose plot points are familiar, but he injects freshness into the film by giving it a unique setting and populating it with characters who are unusual and fascinating.

Very effective second half and character portrayal
vasorange16 September 2017
The first 40 minutes need three breaks for me. But the second half was really good. The film portrayed reality which is the greatest plus. Of course 5 - 10 minutes was more cinematic still very effective film. After long time I keep thinking of a film that I saw for more than the running time of the film.

That actually instigated me to write review.

A wasted chance!
Ansango15 November 2017
While the story had potentials, it was ruined by a substandard narrative and inadequate direction. Clearly a case of wasted opportunity....

While the story was pretty good, the screenplay was too inferior to conceal the flaws in the narration. The whole story was full of done-to-death clichés and offered nothing new in terms of cinema. While it had some seriously sublime life lessons but that too fizzled and looked forced. Only picking a good concept doesn't mean that it will be rendered into a good cinema.

I am not arguing that it is a bad movie, I just can't comprehend how it got so much acclaim despite being a strictly moderate affair. While it surely raised some excellent issues inherent in our society, but the story failed to do justice with that. It tried to give a unique twist to the concept of a true protagonist and almost succeeded in the attempt. This film distinctively turned the theme of perception of the behavior of an individual, but again wasted that brilliance due to a ludicrous twist in the tale. The entire film felt so realistic but the ending turned it into a flimsy mess.

In terms of characterization, the film failed terribly. While the lead girl was given an interesting backstory, her character arc was too feeble and was never explored properly. The lead character of Nambi was brilliantly written and was among the best things about the movie.

The acting was sound. The music was average.

So end the end I want to say that it could have been a strong social drama but fell flat due to too many flaws in the screenplay as well as an uninspired direction. Just a one-time watch movie.
