Strictly for Danish Sait fans
eshshiv21 February 2018
For a debutante, Danish has done really well, portraying a funny but corrupt Kannada Politician. the strong supporting cast of Stand-up comedians Vamsi and Sumukhi, aided by Shruti, Roger and Vijay chendoor have done well to complete the package.

The movie is good for fans of Danish Sait's usual performances as the stereotypical Bangalore Kannadiga with their hopelessly bad command over the English language and grammar. It isn't for people expecting a ground-breaking political comedy.

Definitely worth a one-time watch, especially for the Funnier-in-real-life cast and the bold statements the film tries to make !

You are going to laugh!!!
gnshkini17 January 2018
Humble Politician Nograj is going to make you laugh. The movie is more hilarious than you would think. You will be surprised to see how creative some of those "stupid", funny and ridiculous scenes are. They picked just the right people for this comedy. You can expect dirty, funny, sexy, ridiculous! Not over the top , just laughs and a somewhat sentimental story. Director has clearly tried to send the people a message in between those laughs.

Danish Sait : what a performer , since he started his career in 2009 , his prime motive was to make people laugh and he doesn't let you down this time too. His flawless execution of the character Nograj deserves an applaud. His voice modulation for the role is too good and he always has been a champion in this department. I felt the run time for the movie could have been 30 minutes shorter but nonetheless it is a great movies. Saad Khan and Danish Sait : make us laugh again with your future projects.

Not worth the Hype
sdadsasdasdasdasdasd17 January 2018
The movie isn't a great debut for Danish Sait. Though his acting has been (marginally) good, the film fails to capitalize on the hype it created. To be frank, you can hardly find scenes make you laugh. Just a couple of scenes are fine for a laugh. The videos uploaded on the internet by Danish Sait were much more laughable than the ones in the movie. The gay characters in the movie have no groove in the movie, but shows the mediocrity of the characters in the movie.

The character Monjunath and Lavanya have been potrayed well. Some scenes in the movie which Danish potrays have no realism, like that which he does in the powering the D.S Nagar area, where he enters a random family. Puneeth Rajkumar enters the movie in a college function, which was perhaps only added when the producers realized that movie wouldn't do much in the Box Office.

Saad Khan could had done much better, but thanks to other co-directors who have made it enough bearable to watch once. There is one scene in which Danish Sait couldn't speak Urdu properly, which is actually his mother tongue. If you are a Danish Sait fan, you may only like to forget the movie after you watch for once.

Very refreshing for Kannada Cinema..Very entertaining Film!
maaz-0763512 August 2020
To attempt a political satire first of all is like taking a big risk in Kannada cinema! To top that to choose it as your debut film takes a lot of guts, conviction and faith in your ability - for these reasons alone hats off to Actor Danish Sait and Director Saad Khan. This movie is entertainment from start to finish and with a strong message!

Saad as a director has shown great promise in the way he has handled the actors - Danish can sometimes come across as caricaturish, to ensure his acting just doesn't feel like a series of gags but as an overall performance, credit to the director for pulling it off.

The story keeps you engaged and there are a plenty of laugh out loud moments to keep you entertained! The writing is good, screenplay is tight and the film breathes a bit making it a tad bit longer for a few people - but in my opinion, this was needed to ensure that audience gets the feel of the other characters in the movie as well.

The film also excels in other departments such as Music, Production design and really brings you into the world of Nograj and his shenanigans! Highly recommended watch!

Good movie/message but not as great as the trailer
gsharat12 February 2018
Although I love the plot/story very much, I did expect a lot of entertainment from the movie. There was a fair bit of entertainment but the Borat-esque style/dialogues by Danish Sait got really repetitive. Some people didn't like the way the movie ended but for me personally it was the perfect ending because that's how the real world is right now. Nice guys only win in movies but in real life and more so in India, it's mostly the bad guy that take the cake.

The movie has a very deep meaning and tries to convey the message that at the end of the day politics is a system which can be rigged and there are no real tangible moral filters to pick the right person and the citizen should be held responsible for voting for the wrong guy as much as the politicians themselves.

Overall I thought the movie would be more entertaining than have a message but it turned out to be the other way round. A good one time watch nevertheless.

Showcasing the reality of today's politics
skumarr-0626211 February 2018
This movie presented today's dirty Indian politics effectively in Humor way. The team has done a commendable job that worth to be mentioned. But they could have used this opportunity to give strong social message to its viewers in the end, which I was expecting. I am slightly disappointed by the climax, which could have had better.

A botched debut, one time watch.
vajramunim23 January 2018
Danish's best work on radio and internet has earned him numerous fans across the world. He's a genuine celebrity, and truly deserves his spotlight. His film debut was much anticipated, and unfortunately it turns out to be a bit of a let down. It is so bad, that I have to excuse it for almost all of its duration to say that I truly liked it.

The film does touch upon the most prevalent issues of politics in urban India, but the flaws in writing are very clear. It gives an impression of hasty work, in almost all departments. It falls short of being a bold and witty satire that it tries so hard to be. It could be a great effort, but even a commercial film requires some level of art to truly make a lasting appeal. Danish himself co-wrote the script, and he has more to learn about writing for a film. Direction is pretty ordinary, and may not be considered as Khan's best work in the long run. It is suffice to say that there is little cinematic about Humble Politician Nograj, even by the standards of a satirical comedy. There are very few political satires in Kannada, and the one I remember best is the brilliant Chitegu Chinte with which Humble Politician Nograj shares many of its themes. Much has changed in the political landscape of the region since 1978. Humble Politician Nograj is up to date, but there are no surprises.

However, Danish's alter-ego still manages to steal the show and delivers a few memorable moments. It is a one-time watch, and full credit should go to Danish and some supporting actors like Vijay Chendur for bringing some flair and chemistry to the film even when there is barely any help from the script.

Entertainer all the Way
rajiivnag3 August 2020
HPN is an entertainer all the way. It is a political satire movie which cleverly covers most of the Bangalore urban issues of garbage, parking and political manipulation done by politicians to be in power at any cost. For Danish Sait, it is a cake walk since he portrays Nograj on a bigger screen this time. For those of you who are new to this character , it is a character which Danish started off on Facebook through his live posts which became an instant hit. Also for Saad Khan as the director, the movie is a good start with a subject which is niche and is not a regular run off the mill story. Overall a good family watch !

Unbearable
OnjiMooteDaMarle12 December 2019
The screenplay is horrible, there isn't anything worthwhile, everything is cliche, nothing out of the ordinary. Writing 'based on characters created by...' is a shame to that very sentence, as if they are well known characters that have been written and lived by for decades. The acting is, well, Danish didn't act. He is just himself as he was with RCB. Nothing to see here. A very lenghty and overrated film.

Best performance by Danish sait
praveenm-4857910 August 2020
I always liked Danish sait for his work in radio industry and as RCB insider. Expecting the same humour i watched the movie and it was an amazing work. Danish has given his best performance. Everyone in the movie has given their best. Be it the dialogues, direction or acting everyone has done a commendable job in the movie. Director Saad Khan proves that a small character can create a satire on the Society's ways of functioning, kudos to the director for giving this film, one of the best political satire in Kannada films.

Overall this movie is awesome and a must watch for everyone!

Some laughs and gags
molvos18 January 2018
Danish Sait has come a long way - from his hilarious prank calls on the radio to a full fledged movie - bringing forth his creative talents on screen.

The movie has its moments of sheer fun, folly and frolic. But, the comedy gets run down by the repetitiveness and the overly silly antics to keep the movie progressing. It could have been shortened by more than half an hour.

There is lots of foreshadowing about the man who is supposed to be his "other side of the coin", setting up scenario after another towards the black vs white portrayal. This just makes the story weak. The narrative gets sloppy from the second half and the comedy more repetitive.

A decent start for Danish in feature films. He has pulled off the comic role with ease bringing along the voice acting from his pranks. With better writing in future films, he can become the funny man of the industry.

Boring and waste of time.
suyogshashank15 January 2022
Such a boring and lengthy movie. Story is not engaging, they have copied the karnataka political scenarios duping Yediyurappa, kumaraswamy and other party politicians using the drama that happened during the coalition government. To be frank, The director Saad khan should never try his luck with OTT. French biriyani was better but not so entertaining in terms of story and engaging scripts. It's all hype that has been created by PR team of Danish sait for the promotion of the movie than nothing else.

I took 4 days to finally complete watching 10 episodes. You can imagine how interesting is this piece of so called entertainment would be...lol.

Not so humble Nograj
urvi-308763 August 2020
The film is a roller coaster. Danish has played the role with perfection. The acting is very relatable and as a bangalorean we see bits and pieces of his character amongst people we know, or see in our govt systems. Saad khan has made a movie that connects with the aam janta and he has very beautifully weaved in emotions that make Nograj so dear to his audience.

Loved it!
TreeFiddy5317 August 2023
After my needle-in-a-haystack hunt over the past 3 months or so, I finally got hold of Humble Politician Nograj (Kannada), even lost some sleep over finding subtitles that matched the runtime.

I really liked the trailer and went into the movie expecting a ton of humor, and there was a lot of humor, just not a ton of it...I guess? Or maybe there was, but it was very repetitive...?...dunno. It appears that several Kannada folks thought that it wasn't worth the hype. I don't know how hyped this movie was, so I guess it wasn't a let down for me. But not sure if it was worth losing some sleep over.

This film totally reminded me of Borat in some ways. This guy, Danish Sait, and the folks who played Monjunath and Lavanya did a really good job. One could argue that you can watch the movie just for this trio, plus there's humor in it, never mind the story. I read some reviews, looks like some people didn't like how the movie ended, and I am not sure if i'd agree with that. Throughout the movie, you can tell that it shows how dirty politics is/can be, just that it does so with humor instead of intense music, action, backstabbing, etc. Lets say that this movie kinda sorta is trying to say what Pudhupettai said, but in a TOTALLY different way?

If they were to make a sequel of this movie, I'd watch it. If you're looking for a fun (repetitive or not) time-pass movie, check it out.

Saad and Danish never Disappoint!
vjmuses10 July 2021
The perfect evolution of Saad and Danish's character Politician Nograj that we've all love on YouTube in a movie that absolutely delivers! The film exceeds expectations and is an delight to watch!

One can't help but fall in love with Nograj despite his flaws!

If you've spent anytime in Karnataka, it just adds that much more to the experience of the film though it doesn't matter where you're from, we all have a "Nograj" not too far away... although, none that can be loved like Humble Politician Nograj ... Namaskara!

A Roller Coaster Ride. Go for it.
sharath-300833 August 2020
Was always a fan of Danish but Nograj takes it to the next level in terms of humour quotient. The scenes between Nograj and Manjuanth are a riot. Sumukhi is adorable in her role. Director Saad Khan proves that a small character can create a satire on the Society's ways of functioning, kudos to the director for giving this film, one of the best political satire in Kannada films.

this movie was tooo real!
prajwalamj24 August 2020
I'd read somewhere that politics was just showbiz for ugly people, and every time I accidentally switched to news channels, I'd see the truth in it! and then when HPN came out in 2018, it was quite an experience, watching a sharp satire on an amoral, self-absorbed, narcissistic politician's antics! Saad has directed a masterful comedy and Danish Sait has done total justice to his role of Nograj-the politician we couldn't get enough of in the viral Facebook videos (yes, I religiously watched those)! I'm so glad we have movies with such bold themes in Sandalwood that aren't shy of showing the sheer ridiculousness behind things we sometimes run out of words to rant enough about.
