Reaching a crossroads in his personal life, university lecturer Martin Dawson decides to retreat into the arms of his parents, Len and Joan. But on a weekend break at a cottage in the countryside, his parents' constant bickering, nitpicking, and long conversations about nothing lead the already-stressed-out Martin to a sinister conclusion....
