One thing I really hated about the movie "Friday Night Lights" was the absolutely dishonest characterization of Dallas Carter high school. For "dramatic" effect hack director Peter Berg decided to play the good clean country yokels versus the evil city school...especially when history showed it to be the other way around. Carter was an anomaly in big Texas high school football-A public school team not basking in the riches of a Texas suburb.
The interesting aspect of this documentary was the honesty. They were really good, and the perpetrators of the crimes that were committed openly admitted they were at personal fault. The sad irony is thanks to short sighted media, this team will always be misrepresented due to a hack movie. Watch this for the real story about this incredible team. Twenty eight players were offered college scholarships while eight ultimately played in the NFL. Unreal.
