Angie Dickinson is being disingenuous when she says she was an unknown when Howard Hawks "discovered" her, admitting only to a "couple of movies and a little TV." While RIO BRAVO was certainly her biggest hit to that time, she had in fact had dozens of parts over the preceding five years, including a starring role in Sam Fuller's acclaimed CHINA GATE.
