FRIEND, OUR LEGEND (June - August 2009)

Friendship. Hope. Courage. Choices. Despair. Loss.

This kdrama is one of the proofs that Hyun Bin is not just a pretty face. Oh how I was moved with his acting here as Han Dong Soo! I am in awe! This sealed my grand admiration to Binnie! This is gold!

Bravo to the script writer and director! Cheers to all the actors! They did justice to their respective roles. I love Kim Min Joon as Lee Joon Seuk.

I will never forget this kdrama. It has a sheer emotional punch.

I give it a 9.5/10.

The toughest Hyun Bin movie to watch

Friend Our Legend tells about four childhood friends coming of age in the tough streets of Busan in the 1970s and 1980s. As they enter into manhood, best friends Dong-soo and Joon-seok become enemies and bitter rivals in the city's underworld of gangs. Hyun Bin as Dong Soo, is his most impressive role ever, a loyal friend, a heartless gangster, dying alone, with his bff leaving him and thinking he was betrayed. Do not binge this series, take a break, or the bleakness of this drama will kill you. Highly recommended.

Brilliantly acted complex drama

This drama is wonderful and should be more widely available. Not to be missed. Brilliantly acted drama, complex characters and relationships, gritty and authentic it deserves to be an international classic. Would love to see it reissued for new audiences.

A heart wrenching drama of 6 lives

Not your typical kdrama, with fluffs and happy ending. This show chronicles the lives of 6 lives, from school to adulthood.

The greatest Hyun Bin drama!!!

The story is well written and all the casts portrayed their characters so well. Hyun Bin with silent but so many feelings inside him killed me. This is a not a fun drama like other korean dramas, but it will bring you to an emotional & heartbreaking feeling when watching these group of friends and their family living their life. Every episodes will make you scream NOOO~ or WHY???!!!
