The claim that "on August 7, 2016, 100% of Scotland's electricity came from wind power" is false. It is (reportedly) true that, on that (rather unusual) day, Scotland's windmills produced a wee bit more electricity than was consumed in Scotland. But electricity consumption is low during night hours and much higher than average during peak hours, and wind does not follow this pattern. Therefore a considerable part of the electricity consumed on that day had to come from other sources.
The claim that "there are cities in the US that have already reached the goal of 100% renewable energy" is false. Some cities may have managed to draw their *electricity* from so-called renewable sources for a short period. But electricity consumption is only a fraction - for the U.S about 18 % in 2012 - of total *energy* consumption, so very likely no city has managed to supply even a quarter of its direct energy consumption (let alone of its energy footprint) for even one day from 'renewables'.
The claim that "in May 2016, Portugal operated four days straight on renewable energy alone" is false. It may be true that Portugal operated four days on *electricity* from so-called renewable sources. But electricity consumption is only a fraction - about one-fifth - of total *energy* consumption.
Flipped shot as the film returns to Gore's presentation after the Greenland segment (note the green ring pin on his right lapel instead of his left).
Al Gore claims that he predicted in An Inconvenient Truth (2006) that sea level rise combined with storm surge would flood the 9/11 memorial construction. He didn't. What he did say was that if all the ice melted off of Greenland, it would flood areas with high population, as well as the 9/11 memorial, making no mention of storm surges. As it was Hurricane Sandy that caused the memorial to flood, Gore now rewrites his original claim so that it matches up with the fact. (The exact wording is available in the 'memorable quotes' sections.)
In one of his presentations, Al Gore says that "Pope Francis came to Tacloban ... and delivered a very powerful message that the gravest effects of *the Climate Crisis* are visited upon the poorest people." According to Gore's own projected slide, visible in the background, the Holy Father's words actually were "... the gravest effects of *all the attacks on the environment* are suffered by the poorest." In contrast to Al Gore's, the Pope's phrasing includes all the attacks on the environment brought on by the technologies AL Gore is pushing for, and the downsides of which he seems to be blind to.
